We recieved a wonderful reception.
The hotel staff were friendly to our arrival and offered us a complimentary orange juice. We were happy to find our booking had been received and all details were to hand and ready for our entry. Perhaps they were grateful to receive new guests or just relieved since that it where the joy desists. We were then directed to our quarters following the hand signals from the member of staff, 'You are number 5 down there.' We were then required to carry our luggage the hundred metres to our room, yet this we were content with since it removed the need for a tip. It was soon clear that the hotel was frequented by Russian's, mainly due to the signage, accents and of course the exchange of Russian conversation. Occasionally bright blonde hair and prominent jaw lines added a Dolph Lundgren presence to the scene, but then that is simply stereotyping. Our room was initially appealing albeit small, but had good decor and a modern TV. However, the bathroom door was broken and did not fully shut or lock, the shower tiles were dirty and grimy, and 'beach hotel' is clearly taken too seriously here: there was enough sand on the floor to suggest Karon beach has receded by around 500 metres inshore. This carried into the sheets, which was nostalgic, as it reminded me of those naughty days as a child eating biscuits in bed. The safe in my father's room no longer functioned, but by this time we had already decided our stay would be a brief one. Breakfast provided sustenance and was okay, so long as you are happy with cold fried eggs and mash potato so much loved by the Russians. The omelettes are made to order which was an added bonus, albeit they cooked them in butter which tainted the flavour and finished the omelette with a somewhat over rich flavour. Please do not ask for a fresh fried egg to be prepared. We made this mistake and the chef simply reheated a cold fresh egg which was sat waiting to replenish the equally cold fried eggs. The gym advertised on the site function

Pools! Spacious Room!
PGS Bauman Casa Karon Beach is a little Russia. Everything was clean, located across the road from the beach, most staff very friendly. Mao at La Luna restaurant was exceptionally helpful and friendly. The aircon was a bit funny and reset to 30 degrees C every time we left the room though.. We chose this hotel becuase there were airport transfers. When we checked in a staff member Girl advised this would be fine for 1200 baht, when we enquired the next day Vera said there was no such service. A bit disappointing. Breakfast was pretty good. Would stay again, if there weren't so many rude Russian guests :)

Hardest bed ever
Felt like I was sleeping on the floor. Woke up extremely sore. They also have a phone in the hallways that rings which can be a nuisance if your room is located next to it. For the price it's awesome because of the location and being right across from the beach. I'm not sure what's going on in this area but there were a lot of Russians, letters, food and channels (which are only about 18 channels and you'll be lucky to find an English one). Breakfast was pretty much gone at 9:47am & they close up one side exactly at 10:30am so be sure to get there early. It was okay for the price, we only stayed one night here thankfully. The pool is night with a gorgeous view of the sunset. There's 2 pools and we swam at the one on the higher level which has a kiddie pool & a phone in which you can call to order food or drinks to be brought up, didn't really check out the other one as there were too many people. All in all, it's decent for its location/price and for only 1 night.

Non functioning Air Con
Location, location, location
Left early due to non functioning air con, staff tried their very best and were extremely helpful, but the hotel itself just wasn't what we expected, spread over several buildings gave the feeling of being disjointed I.e. We were were in building 1 , the breakfast was served in building 5, and to get there we had to walk past another hotel, strange layout.

Cheap as. But beds were hard as rock.
The beach across the road. The breakfast although average was included. Has a couple of pools in roof.
We booked on the fly. It was cheap and included breakfast. The bed was very hard. The air conditioner leaked water all over our floor. Bedside lamp was blown. The shower screen was damaged. The shower rose was uncontrollable. Had to hand hold it whilst showering. The staff were generally ok. One Russian lady on counter never smiled. Not a happy camper. I wouldn't go back. Breakfast was average. Most things out of a tin. But fruit was fresh.

Fantabolous Location and stay
Location, Food, Staff, Room
Great...we landed in a mountain view room and asked the reception to change it to pool view and they entertained it immediately and changed our room to pool view (infact right in front of pool with balcony opening in the pool), breakfast was amazing with all the varieties, location was perfect, Halal food is available just few meters away and also can be ordered from Kata
