average of 8,1 is too high

Breakfast was very, very poor (named by the hotel staff itself as mini-breakfast, but in my opinion not even so),the room needs refreshment (there was mould on part of the wall). There was no hot water at the shower-there was cold and not so warm only. Hotel receptionist was barely speaking English. Hovewer, the location and price was good.

Relatively cheap, but not a pleasant stay
i stayed Bazoomhaus one night on March 2015, as a stop-over before moving on to Kata Beach. i regretted to had chosen this hotel. 1) the front desk staff was not authorized to do check-in, so she called her lady boss (the Korean lady) to come in from somewhere, so we waited 25 mins, while waiting, we asked for a cup of coffee as we see a coffee machine at the check-in counter, and they said we need to pay. 2) the hotel provide absolute nothing in the room, not even basic toiletries, ie: soap, towel, bottle of water. 3) the standing shower was platformed by wooden slats, thus the tiles underneath cannot be washed, and it was gross. 4) the worst still yet to come, the Korean owner invited her family or friends to come over, they started gather around 6pm talked & laughed very loudly, follow by smoky Korean BBQ dinner and drinking, party until after midnight. when i finally fell asleep around 1am, i was woke up again by their noise of door banging around 2am. How can you hold your private party when you know you have paid guests staying and completely ignore your guest's comfort. Unbelievable!

Lonely Planet suggestion is right on

the room, the bed, and the shower
This sweet place was a slice of heaven on the chaos of phuket. The staff couldn't offer me a key to the front door and the hot tub is not functioning. Besides these mild inconveniences, it was a really sheik, comforting place to land.

The interior design, cleanliness and location
The owner wasn't around to attend to us when we tried to check in, we had to wait for other staff, who also works next door to serve us. The stay was alright, place is clean and the location is good, 5 minutes walk to the beach.

Dirty Towels

Friendly staff, Good design
This place looks worst in reality and doesn't look like as it appears in the photographs and is more like a small cheap hostel instead of a hotel. I wouldn't recommend this place. I know there are other decent places around.

Good, but could be better

Design of the room, cleanliness, friendly staff
Overall it was pretty good, we booked one of their best rooms and were satisfied with it (loved the balcony! there was even an outdoor shower at the corner of the balcony but it was visible from the street so we didn't try that), except that there were no toiletries at all, for the price we paid, compared to the previous hotel that we stayed at in Patong, which was cheaper by 15% but of the same quality and came with basic toiletries and that made a whole lot of difference! Otherwise, the room was very big and clean, the shower room had wooden planks for the floor, which was awesome, and the Korean owner of the place was a friendly, helpful chap who helped us book a cheaper taxi to the airport when we left, which was very much appreciated. Bed and pillows (the pillows were almost flat) could be improved though, but we still slept well, no issues with mozzies or anything. Would still recommend this hotel, they have a scuba school just next to the lobby, which is great if you are the adventurous type!

An amazing new family and discovered scuba diving

The friendly people, great food and amazing hotel/guesthouse/diveshop
The people (guests and staff) where so friendly that when I first arrived it was difficult to tell who where staff and who where guests. My first night here they invited me to the Korean BBQ that was happening that evening. Everyone was so nice and friendly I felt like family which was important as the BBQ is served family style. Apparently they have these BBQs a couple times a month and if enough guests request it then they'll schedule it for you. I ended up eating more meals at the hotel then outside of it as the Korean food is amazing and they also have great Thai food that isn't on the menu for some reason but is available upon request. The hotel itself is very comfortable, modern and new but is designed with a 60's flare; artwork and furniture included. I was originally only planning on staying two days here and then moving to Patong, but after seeing the condition of the other hotels in the area and after having such an amazing time here I decided to spend my whole week here. I hadn't planned on diving in Phuket but after seeing all the divers returning every evening and hearing their stories I decided to get my open water certification here. After finishing my open water I wanted to dive the King Cruiser wreck that I kept hearing about so I decided to get my advanced certification. My instructor even schedule King Cruiser as one of the dives for my class; otherwise I wouldn't have had enough time to get the certification and dive the wreck. Now I am officially hooked on diving and am already planning a return trip to Phuket and planning to stay and dive at Bazoomhaus for the whole time.
