Not a great experience
The only good thing about this place was the owner, who was friendly and spoke enough English to communicate effectively. However, he was very rarely around, and left his business to be run by 2 awful, unfriendly, and unhelpful teenage girls. The neighbors in the house next door had a baby that screamed and cried morning, noon, and night every day...and they were 3 feet from our bungalow. The wifi was NOT working more than it was working, our water was shut off more than once (and was never warm btw), and the electricity was in and out the entire 4 days we were there. You need bicycles if you are staying here as it is far from everything, but they do not have bicycles for you to rent so you have to walk in to get them and drop them off. The place is inexpensive, but we still ended up feeling as if we had gotten ripped off.

It was ok

5 min from the beach, Best island ever, Easy check-in
Our room at Beda Bungalow was for some reason different from the all the others... while they were the traditional bungalow style of the island, ours was smaller and more drab, I guess. It was cheaper though, so I guess I shouldn't complain. The staff were very nice and it was easy to check in and check out. They were expecting our arrival and had it all ready, except for a sheet on the bed... gili air is the best island ever though. That more than made up for it.

A relaxing stay

Small, family run guesthouse
Staying at Beda was almost like staying at a homestay. Each bungalow was private and separated from the others, the room was good sized and clean. The owner was pleasant enough and would address any questions or issues that i raised, but otherwise pretty much left me alone (which was fine). Breakfast was typical of what you get in Indonesia, with a choice of pancake, eggs/toast, etc. At the time that I booked, the location shown on the Agoda map was incorrect. I see that it has been improved but still doesn't look quite right to me. Beda Bungalow is on the west coast, about 200m up the road from Matahari Bungaows on the beach, and next door to Susan's bungalows. It takes aboout 1/2 hour to walk at a slow meandering pace from the harbour, or maybe 20 minutes if you are walking at normal walking pace. When you arrive, you may prefer to get a horsecart to get there if you are carrying luggage. There is a mosque on the island, but you could barely hear it from Beda. There is a restaurant next door that plays loud music in the afternoons which seems really out of place for the area. At least it doesn't go on much beyond 8pm, but it does make it difficult to relax in the afternoon. I'd suggest that Beda negotiate with the owners to keep it turned down. I would also suggest that Beda do something to build up a communinal garden area for relaxing in (eg with hammocks or chairs) to give the grounds a nicer feel. There is a place to hang up a hammock but there wasn't one hanging up. All up, Beda was an OK place to stay. I felt it was slightly overpriced for what you got (compared to other areas of Indonesia, eg Lembongan) and believe that you can get a cheaper walk-in rate. But by paying Agoda rates, I guess you are getting a guarantee of somewhere to stay.

Clean Bed, Clean toilet

Location, just a few min walk to a quiet beach but hard to find this homestay.
It was OK for someone to get away at a quiet beach. To me, i just need a clean bed and toilet which is fulfilled. The rest are acceptable, not perfect of what you expected. Nevertheless, owner was polite. :)

Peaceful surroundings and attentive family staff

smiley staff, beautiful mango trees, comfort room
My husband and I had some quality stay for 2 nights including super delicious home made breakfast with lombok coffee which prepared by Eddy and Arib and also sampled some very sweet mangoes from the garden. it's family owned small garden style bungalow houses that are all separated to have its own privacy and has a really snow white mosquito net over the bed room, no worries getting bitten and nicely it has a huge open aired bathroom where I encountered one noisy small but beautiful green colored gecko singing,... it's quite distance from the main jetty, but only 5 mins by bicycle or walking for 15 mins and there is a beach away around 200 metre where some bars and restaurants facing Gili meno view,... we will definitely be back to this place if we visit Lombok again
