Rundown and overpriced

Good location,Good location,Good location,
This hotel is way overpriced for its standard. Should be 2 or 3 star. Badly in need of renovating. Our room air con didn't work. Bathroom dirty. No drinking water supplied. Great location close to Beijing railway and subway but other hotels near are nicer.

Good for location

location, staff were helpful
We chose the City Line for its location - it is very close to the Beijing Railway Station and to several subway stations. We have stayed there before so we knew what to expect. We never ate at the hotel so I can't comment on the food. The staff were helpful and helped us get a taxi to the airport when I wasn't feeling well enough to get there by subway. The room we stayed in was quite small. We made a bed for our 3 year old daughter out of the 2 chairs in the room and it seemed to work fine for her. I would say that it is comparable to other 3 star hotels in China.

Near to train station and restaurant

Location, staff and price
Overall is fine. Hotel is near to train station and restaurant. Facility and room a bit old and ventilation not so good. Lift can only be accessed with card key which is good in terms of security. Consider the price it is worth for short stay.

room condition

location was very good
Bed was in bad condition, springs are felt protruding from bed. no refrigerator air conditioning was in bad quality showering area too small, water will always flow out to the toilet bowl area when bathing making the floor very slippery quite limited electrical sockets for charging (only 2) both used for lamps.

One night at Beijing City Line Hotel

Location (close walking distance to Beijing Train Station), Cleanliness and Nice Facilities, Pleasant Competent Staff
A really nice hotel within easy walking distance to Beijing Train Station. Everything was neat and clean. The staff were very pleasant and spoke some English which combined well with the some Chinese I speak. It is right across the street from a good grocery/convenience store. I would stay there again.

Easy to find. Good location. Nice and helpful staff.
OK, the room is a little smaller than the pictures suggest, but the bed is comfortable and everything in the room is kept in decent order. The bathrooms do have an issue where the water from the shower gets on the floor and doesn't drain, but this is only a small bother as it's not a ton of water and the maid dries the floor when she cleans the room. We stayed there for 5 days and had a couple of minor problems we had to call the front desk for, however each of these issues were addressed in a timely manner, usually in about 5 minutes, 10 minutes at the most. Overall it was a decent place to stay. It's not the Ritz, but we didn't go to Beijing to hang out in an ultra nice apartment all day. Bottom line, this place provided more than the basic needs of a traveler. It provided comfort enough to make our stay in Beijing an enjoyable one.

Good location at a good price.

Close to Beijing Railroad station and subway.
Very hard and uncomfortable bed. Non-smoking room still can smell smoke.

Is not up to 3/4 stars standard.

only the location
It was terrible for our 1st night when we arrived the hotel and they give us a "smoking room" which we requested for non-smoking room. The terrible smell make us can't sleep well whole night though we did complaint to front desk and ask for a change but they failed to change for us as said due to fully booked but very lucky that they managed to change for us to another room (better) after the first night. ***Important: I believe the room given to us on the 1st night was totally wrong. As i remember i pay more for "Deluxe king bed" but the 1st night duty staff mentioned to me there is no "King size bed" in their hotel, all their double bed are same size. Then next day, when we back to the hotel and the room they given was so much better with "King size bed" (bigger than normal queen size bed) inside!!! But to be fair that their staffs services are very good though mistake for the room arranged. Conclusion, I won't stay in this hotel for my future visit anymore. Old & surrounding areas are dirty and in fact nothing to shop there.
