Good hotel, good location

location, english speaking staff, room comfort
The hotel was well located and had everything we needed. As we expected the room wasn't that big, but that wasn't a big deal. The staff on two occasions gave us a card for our room which did not work, so we had to return to the ground to get them - that was annoying. Bathroom had a bit of a whiff. Otherwise, great location, easy walk of Oberkampf station - 3 minutes. Easy to walk to Bastille and other attractions if you like walking. Free parking on the weekend. No complaints really.

Great price for a lovely hotel

Decor, quiet location
Hotel very nicely decorated and in a quiet location which was easy to locate and a short walk from a Metro station. As two young females, we felt very safe in this area of Paris. Staff were amenable and it was convenient that the hotel was open 24 hours a day. I can't comment on breakfast as we booked room only and ate breakfast out - it's generally cheaper that way and there are a few little cafes in the area. Downside was that there were a few silver fish in the bathroom which was unfortunate.

Good location, in Marais and close to Metro.

location and courtesy ray
rooms are small, and hotel itself comparatively noisy. fine for a short stay if most of the time is spent enjoying the rest of paris.

hotel is terrible.

this hotel is small. it's o.k. to be small. but an elevetor was out of order, light of the room was out and door handle was broken. nothing was good!

Clean room and helpful staff

clean and newly renovated
a small, simple and nice hotel. the staff is helpful. but it's a little pricey, though it's renovated lately. if you don't mind the location is a bit far from centre, it can be one of the choices.

Quite good

Room not as tiny as many in Paris, fairly quiet
Hotels in Paris in this price range are often a big disappointment. The St Louis Bastille was better than many I have stayed in as the room was an OK size, the decor pleasant, and the bed comfortable. There was also a coffee maker (no cream) and free wifi, and the metro was very near. Overall a satisfactory choice.

Could have been better, but wasn't all bad

Beautiful breakfast spread, good location, close to lots of great shopping and restaurants
Great location near shopping and restaurants. This hotel could be much nicer with a little more attention to detail. The carpeting in the hallways was stained and the hard tile flooring in my room was disgustingly filthy. I put on white socks as I unpacked and then realized they had become blackened when I finished. The room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. Otherwise, they put out a beautiful breakfast spread and the staff were very friendly even if they seemed unsure of how to help problem-solve the broken card required to activate the electricity.
