Good Historical Hotel

The hotel has around 170 year history. The room is clean and comfortable, and people in there are friendly. The historical lift is entertaining, need close doors by yourself, but not fit for accommodation with a lot of luggage. It would be a considerably good choice if you take a light travel. Although WI-FI is free, it has data allocation, you have to renew data allocation time by time, it's a little inconvenient. The breakfast is included in our accommodation, you can fill you up just a quite common and simple breakfast. We haven't tried lunch and dinner in this hotel, not sure if the food is good.

Most convenient location - reasonable price.

Ambassadors Hotel was selected for price and convenience. As it is 140 years old, some allowances must be made, but age was it's most endearing attribute. It was converted from guest house style to en-suite apartments retaining the original lift and old world appointments. As it is Heritage listed this adds another dimension to the experience.

Overpriced, uncomfortable and very dated.
Staff were ok and the hotel was decently located

We paid for a double room. It was quite small. The decor was very (very very) dated. The bathroom was in poor overall condition. The cold water did not work in the shower and the hot water was way too hot to use it alone. The bed was very small. The mattress was incredibly uncomfortable (and likely very very old if the rest of the room was anything to go by). No bottled water in the room (which I would expect in a 4 star hotel). Tap water didn't look clean enough to drink. The bathroom (sliding) door was falling off it's rails. Quite simply, it looks as though the room has had no updating or maintenance performed on it for at least 30 years. At the price we paid for the room it just wasn't anywhere near good enough to represent any kind of value. After getting no sleep, and not being able to have a shower, we were left thinking we should have just stayed in a hostel. So I guess in summary, if our room was ess we probably would have come away thinking it was ok.

Not to exaggerate but feels like being punished
Close to city centre and that is it. ...

I don't know what is your purpose of looking at this hotel but for the sake of God do not book a standard double room here. It is the smallest place with the poorest quality. We are a couple from NSW, Australia and to be honest this hotel is so far the worst place of all that we have ever stayed in across country....Please reconsider your choice.

Bedroom was ok, beds comfy, bad room location was at back of hotel although quite the window was frosted class so no view. Bathroom was awful outdated chipped and cracked, but clean.
