great staff, great rooms, great beach... paradise!

from the minute we stepped onto the grounds, we were transported to that place you imagine when you think about paradise. it was so beautiful and peaceful. just what the doctor ordered. the staff was very nice. it is a small place with about 15 bungalows. perfect for couples. it was not rowdy like the other side of the island. if you are looking for action, pubs, restaurants, traffic and noise, this is not the place for you. we loved it and will go back again. we met several couples (some with babies) who have been back several times. we did not eat the food, because of a special diet, so i cannot comment.
highly recommended.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Since the location is about a 10 min walk from the main road, you will not find cabs cruising by. You will have to order a cab or rent a car.

Wonderful little quiet jewel on Samui
So quiet, so peaceful amidst the craziness of Koh Samui and its mass of tourists

It's an upretentious place. As you drive up, there is no fancy entrance and you wonder what you have gotten yourself into, but when you enter through the front arch, everything is there that you could need and want - lovely large beach villas - many, facing the ocean, wonderful, attentive staff, amazing food, massages on the beach and sunsets like I've never seen. I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to enjoy all the beauty and activities of Koh Samui without the "maddening" crowds.
The only criticism I had was the water situation in the shower. It is hot for maybe a minute, but then goes cold for about 3 minutes and this fluxuation continues throughout your shower. But all in all, "mai pen rai" - it was all good and this was just a little annoyance that was dwarfed in the whole scheme of things.

Basic room but beautiful view.
The sunset and the calm sea compared to some parts of the island.

The room was basic for the price but they put in an extra bed free of charge. There was no safe in the room and I now wish I had insisted as my wedding and engagement rings disappeared at some point. It could have been on the journey back to Bangkok or from the room but at least with a safe, there would have been no doubt. The manager was really helpful throughout our stay. At the end, he gave us a lift to the pier himself when there were no taxis. (although he quoted 200 baht and then tried to charge 300, we would have given it as a tip had he not changed the price.)

Beautiful resort to relax and eat yummy food!

We really enjoyed the two days we spent in this beautiful hotel. When we arrived they received us with a big smile and fresh orange juice! The hotel is small, so they give special attention to all guests. The room was very good, big and clean. We stayed on the sea view suite and it was very nice.
The location is far from the night life and party. It is special for have a relaxing time. The resturant was very good, we really enjoyed every time we ate there! The food is very well prepared, fresh and yummy!

Too far from the main road,quiet location.
We had no wifi during the stay, air con went down in the morning.
Moldy smell when u in bed, my wife got headache in the morning because of it.

Lovely, quiet, nice pool, qood quality

Lipa Lodge is the best hotel I have been to while traveling through Thailand. We were in low season. Hotel was almost empty. Bungalows are just at the seaside, swimming pool is 4 meters from the sea, under palm trees, it is a really beautifull area, you can use hotel bar and restaurant. Breakfast is a bit small but tasty, food at the restaurant (overlooking at the sea!) is expensive (as for Thai standards) If you want to save cash, better you can go for a dinner to the nearest resort - it is cheaper.
Location is nice, it is quiet there, only a few shops after 10 minutes walk. To get to other parts of samui you have to use taxi.

Lovely room and bar/restaurant overlooking the sea

The rooms are spacious and have all you need in them. The bar and restaurant are lovely overlooking the sea/beach and has a large range of food/drinks although its quite pricey compared to anywhere else. The pool is quite small but is a lovely infinity pool overlooking the sea/beach. The staff are nice enough but the reception is not 24 hours so be warned if you are arriving between 12 midnight and 7am. But all in all a great place
