The hotel is amazing but the position is wanting There is a receded tide which leaves a mushy smelly muddy place next the path and Infront of the hotel This is the view This lovely hotel with its lovely staff needs a better position

Good for a short break

The spa, the treatments and the location
6.3
My fiancé and I stayed here over New Years. It was our first trip to Railay so we didn't quite know what to expect, but all the reviews were good so we were excited. The hotel itself is in a good location, very central to the main bars and restaurants and the pier which gives you access to Krabi and Ao Nang. It's also in easy walking distance to the West Beach and the Phranang Cave, which was awesome. On arriving at the hotel, we found things to be pretty dated and worn, not polished and well kept like the photos make out. Overall the room was fine but the giant bathtub was dirty & stained and the plug didn't fit, the plants were dead and it was all just a bit tired, which was disappointing. We ate in the hotel a couple of times although the food was very average - we actually had most of our meals from local restaurants because it was much better value, more delicious, and had a better atmosphere. The pool area was pleasant despite there being no towels available until lunchtime most days, and there was a film of oil or suncream on the top of the water which made swimming rather nasty. I'm sure when the hotel was new a few years ago, it was absolutely stunning. Unfortunately now they don't have enough staff or the necessary attention to detail to keep it up to the standard of a 4* hotel. However we did accept that 4* in Thailand is different to other countries, and by no means did it spoil our holiday. We enjoyed some fabulous treatments in the spa which were incredible, probably the best part of our trip! We wouldn't stay there again but we would recommend it to people travelling to Railay as it's definitely one of the best hotels on the island. Just don't go for 6 days because there's not enough to do.

The best option in Railay East

Rooms are spacious and very well kept. The hotel is a short 5-10 minute walk from anywhere in Railay. Staff was helpful in booking spa and getting bags to the ferry.

Overall the stay was wonderful! It was not clear where to go when we landed on Railay west, but without too much trouble we found the walking path to Railay east and cheeked in no problem. The hotel is set on the tidal bay which is not quite as scenic as Railays west side, but overall it is a great value for the price!

For Railay, can't beat Bhu Nga Thani

good staff, rooms, and proximity to amazing beaches

Loved the hotel - staff are great, rooms are clean, and you can easily walk to restaurants, bars, and beaches. Beware - if you are there for New Years to MUST spend $130 for the "NYE Gala" - entertainment is annoying at times (it was too loud to even talk with my family), drinks are not included, and the food was not great. However, I bet all the hotels do the same thing. Railay is GORGEOUS, however the sound of the longtail boats overpowers the beauty of the beaches... it is non-stop. The beaches are a hot spot for tourists, so if you want some serenity, you've go to go to the beaches early in the morning.

Great hotel, great location

The hotel is lovely, clean comfortable and relaxed. The location is great. The downsides are the service at breakfast, the staff were slow and disinterested. Each morning we waited at least 20 minutes for a black coffee and tables were not cleared of dirty used plates. Also the hotel advertises that it has a fitness room but when we were there none of the CV equipment was working. We ended up doing a workout in the garden outside - not a bad alternative, but they should either have a gym that works or Not have one at all. Other than the two points above the hotel is lovely and location is great for all the lovely little bars and restaurants on Railay East.

Our stay was very enjoyable. The only negative experience concerned my wife falling ill. We called the reception who passed us to a local clinic. The cost of the service was over £500. I feel the hotel should have warned us of this extremely unreasonable and excessive charge.
