beautiful sunrise beach, secluded location, good for quiet vacation
the overall experience was good. satisfied with the room, beach, ambiance. but no swimming pool and snorkeling facility and other water sports. gotta go to bintan agro, although shuttle bus is provided. but snorkeling costs IDR 450K per person, very expensive for domestic tourist.

Restful stay at Bintan Cabana
White sands, beautiful quiet beach, far from the madding crowd, it was a restful stay. We had a lovely time. Because our days are idyllic, we had more time to catch up with each other and as a family. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

trade luxury for tranquility
It was the third time that my family visited Bintan Cabana Beach Resort. The scene was beautiful as usual and the staff was very friendly and warm as well. Overall we had a pleasant two day short getaway during children's school holiday. The Pros: The resort is located in the less crowded east coast of Bintan island. The resort is a relatively small one with only around 50 rooms, and most of the time not full, or at least appears so. It is perfect for those who seeks a quiet and peaceful retreat by the beach without all the hustle and bustle even during peak season. The resort staff are all very friendly and hospitable. The beach isn't the typical one with white sands and tidal waves all day long. Rather it has a very flat sea bed consists of sands and dead coral reef extending hundreds of meters into the sea with nearly no tide at all. The water are very clear although the seafloor are kinda barren, but still full of small sea creatures such as crabs and fishes and shrimps, making it very fun for yound children. The cons: The resort facility is kinda old and not well maintained. The hot water in bathroom is very unstable, temperature fluctuates rapidly from cold tap water to painfully hot. therefore showering kids could be a problem. The food choices provided are rather limited. It was better this time (June 2016) compared to our past visit (2014 & 2015), with additional choices of steamboat and BBQ, but still not many choices. Mosquitoes and flies! (and probably sand flies as well - bitten by these and be prepared to suffer a couple month's slow healing process with constant itchyness). Not many water activities, but fairly speaking it may not be a bad thing if one just want to be in a daze at the peaceful sea. Overall in my opinion this is a good place to go for a short getaway. but do remember to bring enough mosquito repellent.

The best and worst stay ever
I never wanted to go to Bintan, not before I found out that Tioman was fully booked just a few days prior to the Malaysian holiday. I was supposed to go alone, to enjoy a solo vacation exploring some strange place within the limited time. However, I had a companion with me, who volunteered to join this venture. She was my colleague and recently became a friend of mine, who was seemed to have a lot in common with me. The hotel was just OK in general. Room is large and clear, a wonderful place to spend the night. Breakfast was fine, too. But the rest, is nothing more than a yard by the sea. The moment I saw everything, I wish I didn't made up my mind to come. But it was actually a completely different story. She came along, to my delight. Every seconde every minute every hour meant values to me. We spent time in the dining hall, talking. We went to Argo to dine. We took a kayak and rowed it to the rocks and found lovely sea gull babies. We went snorkeling and swimming and she amazed me by showing what a born swimmer she was. We talked and we laughed out loud. I layed my eyes on her quitely while she was focusing on taking pictures of the fireworks in the moonlight. That scene was just perfect, with her by my side, until later that night she told me she had no feelings for me, not at all. It turn out that I was merely a friend, not even a close one. I was not surprised actually. I might not have been attractive like some other guys, but I definitely was not stupid. I know you can't impose someone to like you. So I went home peacefully and was happy that she was still a friend and potentially I still stand a slim chance. And few days later, she

Quiet and very secluded, great place to relax
We traveled to Bintan Cabana Beach Resort in end May for a 3D2N trip in a group of 4. We did not indicate our arrival time, however, thankfully there was one staff member stationed at the ferry terminal, calling out 'Bintan Cabana!' at the people who passed by. We approached him and he showed us a list with my name on it. Upon confirmation that I was indeed the guest, he introduced himself to my friends and I, and told us that there was transport waiting for us to bring us to the resort. If you are traveling to this resort, do remember to indicate your arrival time in your booking so that the resort staff knows when to pick you up. We then loaded into a car (a Toyota 7-seater; it had good air-conditioning but could do with some cleaning up. But it was still acceptable and quite comfortable) and traveled about an hour to the resort. The driver sped the entire journey, it was a little bumpy here and there but overall it was alright. Upon arrival at the resort, check-in was smooth, and the staff were polite and spoke a reasonable amount of English. We were then shown to our rooms, and it was quite a surprise as the rooms were a lot nicer and brighter than we had expected. The rooms were also very spacious. We stayed in the Junior Suite rooms, and the view from our balcony was unobstructed. I highly recommend this room type. Whichever room type you are staying in, do keep the doors (entrance & balcony door) closed at all times because the mosquitoes are abundant and will not hesitate to make themselves comfortable in your room if you leave the door open for too long. Insect repellent is highly recommended. There really is nothing much to do at this resort, so it is ideal for people who are looking to purely relax and unwind which is very much what we did. The waters are shallow, and you can walk meters and meters from the shore into the water. However in the late evening the water starts to recede, and the tide only started coming back in at about 11am to 12no

good to relax
Its a quiet place with beautiful beach. Staff are helpful. Food there are expensive with not much choice. There is nothing much to do unless go to sister resort, Argo. There are mosquito outside the room. However, it is good place to Chill & relax. It also provide free shuttle service from Tanjung Pinang ferry terminal.

Not a great beach, Limited activities
The resort is average. Rooms are either Cottages set back from the beach or Rooms on the second floor of the main building. Clean but very basic. Small TV and movie channel wasn't working. Internet was so slow I couldn't load Yahoo landing page. Occasionally I'd get a burst of "speed" at maybe 56kbps (Not Mbps) just about sufficient to what'sapp and that's it. Beach was really shallow and at low tide, the waterline is about 500m from the hotel. Worst of all the sandflies...not a lot, but just a few and enough to give you a few bad bites. Use LOTs and LOTs and LOTs of of Insect repellent if you want to avoid it. But its not a bad place to get away for a few days. Ice cream is cheap.

A Perfect Place To Get Away
I recommend if you stay at Bintan Cabana, stay at the beach front housing. Beautiful view overlooking the ocean. Take a room at the main building. Friendly staff and clean smart decorated rooms. Breakfast was a downer I rate it 4 out of 10, needs to improve. Otherwise I highly recommend this property.
