was better years ago

views, location near the Blue Lagoon

Stayed many years ago -loved it - seems not to have been kept up so well. Great concept -Eco friendly in a tasteful way. Eco should not mean grounds not cared for...our bathroom was a jungle. Natural is fine but not a messy, unclean jungle please... Don't get me started about all the rubbishy woven screens/dividers all falling apart and worse the dumping to the left and right of the main lane down to the Blue Lagoon...Also your steep stairs and paths are really hard for older folks with poor vision...sometimes handrails covered by overgrown gardens and other times tiny, uneven stones with all the surrounding dirt washed away... The corner of the floor in the yoga area sticks right out to trip anyone on the major circulation route...As for food, the menu and the flavors selections are sufficient and appropriate, but please just encourage the cooks to tighten up on their technique so things are cooked properly... the whole restaurant and spa level seems to drop down a notch in terms of style and appearance/layout/design... yet there you can find some of the most striking views!! and there seems to be a lot of wasted, unused space...random rooms that have a great view used as storage, etc... public area lobby with furniture all thrown around out of sorts with a messy office beside that ...and please don't trip, as you try to access the bridge...and come on...who didn't try at all to decorate that Christmas tree? First impressions given below at the parking area and then in the lobby/reception are very important... lovely and capable staff can't cover for that visual first impression... the staff seemed so switched on and hard working...compliments to them...

Great location with a nice villa. The staff was very nice and the restaurant was really good although a bit slow. The lest good I would say would be the noisy kids especially in the swimming pool, which if you are looking for peace and quiete is not a plus. They should be more vigilant about everyone's leisure and not allow that amount of chaos in a swimming pool. If it weren't for this major detail i would have only good things to say about it.

Amazing stay

We had an amazing time at the resort. The staff are great and also the room. The room's view was amazing, also with a huge space, however there's no proper blanket for the bed, all we got for a blanket was a bed sheet. Also the room's door are really hard to open. They need to fix on that, other than that everything was amazing, and we enjoyed every moment there.

Fantastic, third visit. Wonderful little gem. Thinking of booking a week every year. After visiting 40 countries, I am not easily impressed, but this place is really nice :-)

Awesome

Excellent, this is my husband and I's third time staying and we requested our favorite villa which was granted. The view is extraordinary, pool is awesome because it is a beach style and has a water slide and the buffet breakfast was very high quality which is not always available with quantity. The couple we brought with us said it was the most amazing room they have ever stayed in.

very good, just the airport pick up service a bit expansive (RP550k), the rest is fairly good, a out of world experience, like been to a mountain village with nice mountain and see view, quiet and comfortable, room is specious, bath area is outdoor surround with greenery like bath in a forest.no aircon but cooling in night, kitchen ware is fully equipped, you can even cook dishes yourself if you have transport and time, diving and snorkeling is best in this region(not for sea sport) fishing is good too, just dun have the luxury of time, otherwise will go and catch some finish and cook back in the kitchen. very good for long time staying, besides fresh juice is impressive, dinning is very economical.

Expensive and disappointing

Would not recommend this accommodation to anyone, unless they want to be overcharged for a bed. Very disappointed, glad we had only booked for one night otherwise I would have been asking for a refund. The property was advertised as having air-conditioning but when we arrived, only one of the two bedrooms had air-conditioning. Rooms were very small and the bed was hard and uncomfortable. Wanted to go to the beach, the first beach was a big, steep hill drop - not suitable when you have two young children to carry down, then up, especially when it is humid. We then called for a shuttle and the rude driver dropped us at a location where behind 2 gates apparently it was a 2 minute walk to a white, sandy beach. After climbing a rocky, slippery and steep hill for 15 minutes, we saw that it was another 10 minute walk down a hill to get to the beach. We ended up turning around and slowly descended while trying not to fall. Some of the male staff were very rude and arrogant. Also, after signing out we were asked for a tip, very rude considering we had paid $200 for 1 night. Will never return or recommend to anyone. Overpriced and overrated.

Luxurious eco resort with amazing views

Amazing view of the bay, gorgeous night sky, un-chlorinated pool
8.7
I woke up every morning to the mist gently lining the edge of sky and sea, as the sun breaks over the horizon. It's a gorgeous view of the bay. At night, the starscape is stunning, with very little light pollution in the area. On the last night, we enjoyed that view while floating in the natural eco-pool. It's un-chlorinated so it doesn't hurt when the water gets in your eyes. Getting into town is a short ride in the resort van. You don't want to walk considering how it is located on a small hill top. In any case, there's nothing much in town to do beside eat and enjoy cheap massages. We were more than content to stay in the resort, lounge around and enjoy the view. Expect to unwind and relax. A point to note though, is that the resort is not very friendly for older folks with mobility issues. There are some areas which are set on slopes so it can be challenging. The furniture also has some sharp corners which would be a hazard if you are bringing young children.
