Stunning View but bathroom/WC let it down

The location was stunning and it was quiet and had wonderful views
Some would say that the property had a period charm, others that the décor and facilities had seen much better days. We belong in the latter camp but it does depend on which bedroom you are in. We had the twin (Curries Corner) and were not aware when we booked that the bathroom and WC were not en-suite but across the hall. This is not made clear in their website. Although supposedly for our exclusive use, other guests used them. Signs on the doors might have helped. The bathroom facilities were very ancient, especially the shower. The bedroom ceiling fan helped to cool the room down at night and with the windows wide open you get the sound of the ocean. For early risers, light flooded into the un-curtained porthole. The other two (double) rooms were en-suite and had a (bit) more modern bathroom facilities. I am somewhat amazed that other reviewers spoke so glowingly about the facilities. But during our stay there were two sets of guests that had stayed before so obviously, in their view, the positive aspects of this property outweighed the disadvantages. The lounge and dining areas were roomy and comfortable. Yoliswa looked after us very well but don’t expect your beds to be made or the room tidied during your stay! The breakfasts she cooked were very good and substantial! The internet connection described as high speed was anything but and many times web pages would not load but email worked OK. Yoliswa tried to sort it out with the provider with no avail but it was over the Christmas period. The view from the bedrooms and lounge was stunning but the downside of being built on the side of a hill was that parking in the property was very tricky and we risked parking on the street at the bottom of the hill. The facilities at Kalk Bay was an easy walk away.
