Massively overrated. Steer clear. Fire issues.

Location was quite convenient for both town & temples. Nice to have a pool, although plenty of resorts have better. Struggling for the third, as most things below par for a decent 4 star or even 3.
I would not recommend staying at Borei Angkor Resort at all. Steer clear. Overpriced for what it is and not relaxing. A concern to hear fellow guests talking of a fire in one of the rooms one night and the smoke effect on various other rooms. As if this weren't bad enough in itself, the attitude of staff was apparently disturbingly blasé. Quite apart from this, the many on-the-ground staff are in your face but fail to actually help with the things they should. For example they interrupt your meal to clear plates excessively, but fail to actually provide basics like napkins or cutlery all the time, or tea refills, and they also leave countless used tables throughout the dining room dirty and uncleared. We also were buzzed at 9:30am by housekeeping, which by my reckoning is before you should have to think about putting a do not disturb sign up. Also, friendly is fine, but a good morning from every single cleaner or busboy you go within 20 feet of is just too much. They need to let the guests relax a bit. General feeling is these guys are trying to mimic a 5 star hotel but don't actually know the basics of what one is. A good staff should have their presence be appropriately attentive but not overbearing. The tour desk was exceptionally unhelpful, just pushing 2 inflexible overpriced options rather than assisting guests to do the kind of visit they want. We ended up dealing entirely with external people instead. Rooms and building have seen better days and whole place has a very tired feel. At the same time, it manages to be an environmental monstrosity for which it seems half a forest must have been logged. In other sundry complaints: the spas & saunas are segregated by gender (not much good for couples), the staff have no idea how to cook eggs, too many managers in suits makes it feel a bit mobbed up, menu & spa hugely overpriced, and finally would question who owns this place and where any of the profit might go.

Fub stay but....

rooms, pool, breakfast buffet
Everything was great except for in dining and at the pool , food was good but we were 4 people. We never got served at the same time, one meal was 45 minutes from the first being served to the last. Soup of the day took 30 minutes

Nice hotel very nice staff

Professional staff / free pick up at the airport / nice morning buff
The hotel is nice, but it's the staff that makes the hotel a great stay. They offer free pick up at the airport and offer advice for your trip while waiting for checking in. I arrived at the hotel at 11, they still let me have an early check in. In the next few days, it was a pleasant to stay at the hotel. The location might be the one I will pick upon the hotel. Slightly remote, but you can spend 2 dollars to get to the old maket. There is a place to rent bike nearby the hotel though. Anyway, I am happy that I select this hotel for the trip.

Oasis in an industrial neighborhood

Staff were just excellent; very accomodating to a large group we had invited to dinner at restaurant; nice spa.
Second time we have stayed at this great property. Will do so again even though it is located in a busy/industrial type neighborhood. Spa was excellent but gym equipment is worn and needs to be replaced. Excellent pool could use an outdoor hot tub. Plenty of smiles from staff is much appreciated.

Great staff and breakfast

Breakfast, bed, staff
Had a great stay, rooms are a bit dated, old cabinets and bathroom gives a 3 Star feeling, but the bed makes up for it. Great buffet breakfast but same selections each day can get a little boring. The gym was ok but the universal machine should be replaced, even after servicing the cables were not smooth and is a waste of space. Nice decor, and great staff. Tuk-Tuks are easily called for from reception and please don't pay any more than USD$2 to the old market and back (night may vary USD$1). Thoroughly enjoyed my experience overall.

Exceptional Service

Polite and efficient staff; good location; well kept pleasant hotel surrounds.
Both in its facilities and its standard of service this is an exceptional hotel. My travel colleague awoke ill on the morning of our departure. This had nothing to do with food, but it was impossible to check-out at the appointed time. Although the hotel was fully booked, the duty manager quickly found ways to accommodate my colleague until he recovered later in the day, and also arranged for my transport to and from a suitable pharmacy to obtain medicine. In all, the situation was dealt with efficiently and without stress.
