our stay was really perfect, staff were very helpfu

the location ( on the river ), the quiet at night, and the knowledge of the staff about the surrounding area.
our stay was really lovely. we met lovely people on their honeymoon, and had a really interesting stay learning about how palm oil plantations are ruining the area for the wildlife, who rely on the native forests to feed, breed and exist.

very overpriced with not so good management

the setting is good, located at the river. the room is good. food is good.
we were quite happy to look at the lodge. it should be the best among the other lodges in the same area. however, we were very disappointed about the price we paid and also package we had. which we could have done a bit more at our stay there with more activity or so the bathroom is very basic which is ok. however, we found a leech in the toilet bowl and that freaked me out. we also found the room full of insects and a big one even crawling on me. i think they could make a better way to balance out the insects and the wildlife out there such as setting up a mosquito net or something that keeps the mosquitoes out. air conditioner electricity supply stopped at night and luckily that it wasn't too hot

Great jungle experience and comfortable facility

Environmental friendly lodge
It was more than I expected, good and clean room, tiny but everything just more than average, we are really satisfied with the people and facility there. Of course, it is a little bit cosy than the homestay style but worth paying more. About the river cruise, the afternoon cruise it really nice, it was not a plenty of wildlife, still we saw hornbills, long-noise monkeys, some other monkeys, some birds, not really much, but typical. Also, we pay for the night cruise additionally, however, we just see some birds like kingfisher for a two hours cruise, the wildlife guide tried really hard to find but nothing more than the birds, then we are not paying for the morning cruise, but the resident joined the morning cruise said, they saw something different to the afternoon cruise, like some frog, and birds, the guide also try hard to find elephants, but just find some droppings of the elephants. hehehe...
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Raincoat is required

Comfortable lodge, fantastic experience

Clean, comfy, great surroundings
BNL is located in the rainforest. The package include 2 nights accommodation, 3 meals a day, 3 boat trips into the rain forests with guide and transportation to and from Sandakan city. The lodge is new and clean. The food is ample and decent. The guide is very knowledgable and all the staff are genuinly friendly. We saw many different types of monkeys, hornbills, kingfishers, put vipers etc.. The Bornean rainforest is mystic and fascinating. It's an experience of life time. The area is not very touristy (yet), maybe due to lack of direct flight to overseas. The palm oil plantations are eating into the rain forests.- although the government has set up a wildlife sactury. We haven't been so relaxed, yet excited for long time. Would highly recommend this trip and this lodge to anyone loves nature.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Try sepilok orang utan sactury and rain forest discovery center on the way to/ from the lodge. First boat trip by the lodge is around 4pm; they will send you back to the city right after breakfast. So you will have plenty of time for these 2 additional activities.

Great location & wildlife expeience on the River

River trip and Guide Jamie
Memorable 'wildlife' experience mainly centred on boat trip down river. Our guide Jamie helped overcome lack of Resort organisation. The restaurant supervisor needs customer-handling skills training.

Great wldlife location on river

Location, Jamie our guide
A really memorable experience. The river trip was particularly good. Our guide, Jamie, was very knowledgeable and helpful in co-ordinating the transfer to our next wildlife lodge. The food was OK but restaurant supervision was below par. Couldn't have done it without Agoda's special website rates offer.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Take insect repellent

Great experience!

Wildlife, eco friendly
We stayed for the 3D2N package and enjoyed it very much! The river cruises were excellent, especially when we saw the wild elephants! It was however a bit of a let-down that the guide asked for extra money for fuel, because the place where the elephants were spotted was further then they usually go. For the money we paid for our stay I think this should be included... However, staff were all very friendly, the resort looked very nice, and the rooms are clean and well maintained. Food however is not that great.. But the conversations of the waiter Along (or Alung?) made eating a pleasant experience
