Two Separate Nights
Staff, location and grounds.
We were using the lodge on either end of visits to Palau Tiga. Fantastic location with well presented grounds and lovely staff. To be picky, and not to be critical of the lodge since they are still better than most places in Borneo (we live in Brunei), the quality of the food could be improved. The fresh fruit and eggs were fantastic but jams, butter or anything else purchased/process left a lot to be desired. The hillside location ensures that all of the rooms make the most of any sea breezes and have a fantastic outlook.

Staff, Style of hotel & beach
We stayed an extra night and I could have stayed for so much longer - it is heaven. Delicious simple food, wonderful places to relax, gorgeous beach and lovely activities.

Fantastic location, aging but clean
Ocean views and access to beach, empty
Only guests there at this sleepy aging hotel. Lovely views of the beach which you'll have mostly for yourself as far as the eyes can see

Prepare to climb, sweat and overspend
Once you climb up the hill, the view is nice.
The owner called the day before to tell us we would have to pay double for the room since two persons, since they are 'full board'. We said we only stay overnight, how much to just sleep there. Same thing! Double! Finally she agree to hold (over) price for room only. Hotel down bad road. No sign at location. Hotel up on big hill. Must climb many stairs to reach, with your luggage. Many more stairs to rooms. No air con, tv or phones in rooms. Must keep windows open to stay cool with fan. No other guests so guessing the full board buffet would be pretty small, so bad value for money. Good we did not choose. All electric turned off in the night. So no fan or mosquito thing. Only heat, sweat and biting bugs. Toilet not work with no power so no toilet or water. Report to staff in morning and ask for discount. Answer is NO! Very bad experience.

Beautiful Sunset and Peaceful Enviroment
Nice beach, beutiful gardening, friendly staffs
The quiet, peaceful environment is worth for the price you paid. Suggest to take a bus to Kuala Penyu and ask their staff to pick you to the hotel, it would only cost you less than half price of the hotel transportation charged.

Serene oceanfront lodge
the location of the hotel was the best thing we liked about the hotel. it was directly facing the absolutely lovely sandy beach and the view from the room and restaurant was amazing.
We enjoyed our stay and loved the quietness of the hotel. The food was good and fresh. The beach waa absolutely lovely and great place to swim.

Not value for money but is a good place to rest
Big portion of food, Nice sunset view, Big room
This is a mind relaxing place, no water activities or water sport at all, just enjoy the quiet surrounding and beautiful sunset. I suggest they provide telephone in the room for emergency purpose as there is no line received in the room and most of the area as well. However, the safety of this place is still ok....

A quiet get away for total relaxation
beach, solitude, staff
The hotel has an unusual setup in that it is miles away from anything else so offers full board in the form of set meals. They do ask you when you arrive whether you have any dietary requirements but if you dont give any they just cook what they think you might like. This is usually some meet, fix, rice, vegetables and fruit for desert. The food is tasty but not prepared western style (which means it's on the bone or needs a bit of peeling (prawns) or cutting up (whole fish). It has a back packer feel to it with a dormitory available but when we stayed there everyone was in a room so it was quiet. Rooms were basic but clean and well serviced. The beach is fantastic - so deserted that you can walk for an hour without seeing another person. Unfortunately we were advised not to swim because of jelly fish (apparently during april and may) but they had kayaks so at least we could get some exercise apart from walking. Ideal for a quiet secluded few days in the sunshine.
