a place to stay close to transport

1. convenient location serving my purpose. 2. relatively not too expensive. 3. spacious room
just okay. hotel very worn out. regular repair and maintenance seem overdue. sofas at lobby need replaced. staff services in general acceptable but not warm.

Old but still the best

Location Location Location
We paid a lot for our room this time and it was very small too hot with no wifi. We go upgraded to an executive room for the second night, which was very comfortable. Its a old hotel and shows in places but if you a get a good deal its the best London hotel in all.

Not what I expected

The entrance, room air conditing, bed comfort
I was very disaapointed mainly because there wasn't enough sockets in my room and the closet socket was near the door so charging my phone and my partners phone was a problem. Reception Staff was rude all because she was tired and wanted to go home. So she took her frustration out on me. Breakfast was awful. Probably the worst I've tasted at a hotel. Finally the rooms we initially booked wasn't available so we were issued family rooms instead of a double. This was so upsetting having to sleep on single beds. Overall I am bitterly disaapointed.

Close to Canary Wharf highlight

Canary Wharf, atmosphere outside hotel
Hotel needs a makeover and the staff are barely competent, however, accepting these deficiencies my room was old yet clean and I was in town for 2 days only and I did enjoy being close to everything Canary Wharf has to offer. The Emirates Cable Car and Ferry essential for the short visits.

Looking very tired

Location, Staff
It was ok, the rooms are looking very tired and in need of sprucing up, the bed was rock hard. We met some friends in the bar, the leather sofas are very old and patched up, it was cold in there, we would have stayed for a few drinks but it was too cold, so moved on.

A good hotel but can be better

convenient location for travelling, value for money, safe area to stay
It was second time my husband and I stayed there. Overall it is a good hotel (I would rate 3 and half star). The room has a big chandelier which is a bit out of date/style - any guests who are over 6ft, they need to be very careful not to hit their head while walking around the room. Also, the breakfast can be better and healthier for the £10/person charge - nice to have many options but I feel it is too much at the moment and...: do we need chips for breakfast?; very salty black pudding & sausage (low quality?); sugary cereals (no option for 'no added sugar'); low quality coffee...
