A value-for-money hotel, Brooks Hotel Edinburgh is housed within one of Edinburgh's historical buildings, right in the city center. Built in 1864 by Fredrick T. Pilkington, one of Edinburgh's leading architects of the time, the Brooks Hotel Edinburgh is within easy walking distance of Princess Street and the Haymarket Railway Station. The affordable rooms are warm and comfortable, all with modern en-suites, and guests are made to feel personally welcome immediately upon check-in. Edinburgh itself is a beautifully preserved, historical city with an endless list of attractions for the visitor. The Edinburgh Castle dominates the skyline and has stood guard over the city for centuries. A guided tour of the castle and grounds is highly recommended and is just one of the many attractions that can be easily reached from the hotel. It was little far from the train station(About 40min on foot) and very poor staff service but with the price I was ok to stay.

Some very small rooms. Mine had an awful food smell wafting in at times. After complaining the room was changed to a different floor and it was ok

Great hotel

Easy check in, great location, underground parking available

Only there for one night, rooms were small but well furnished. A Tesco express is right around the corner. Many dinning options down the street from the hotel. Would definitely stay there again.

Although we only stayed the one night for the rugby match this hotel exceeded our expectations. Value for money you will be hard pressed to beat and the honesty bar is open till 2am (sat/sun). Its location in haymarket is a 5 minute walk from the haymarket station and a 20 minute steady walk to murrayfield and a short taxi ride into the heart of Edinburgh. We shall stay there again no problem.

Excellent value

good sized room; comfortable bed and room; good value
9.3
We had a lovely mid-week two night stay at Brooks Hotel in Edinburgh over half term. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room (we had room 105) was good sized, cosy and comfortable and cleverly organised so that there is ample storage space. It was at the back of the hotel, overlooking some flats and was very peaceful – you can hear a low level of road traffic noise if the window is open but with it closed it is very quiet. The breakfast was generous and delicious and very reasonably priced – you can opt for continental breakfast at half price with a wide range of breads, cakes, fruit and cereal. The hotel is on the west side of the city and about 20 mins walk to the castle and rather further for other tourist attractions but we found its high standard at such a reasonable price outweighed any inconvenience and we enjoyed the walking to and fro. I would definitely recommend this lovely hotel and return myself.
