Great Location - Comfortable Stay in Traditional House
I enjoyed my time there and would recommend others to give it a try. You get a chance to have a more unique window on your time in Seoul. In addition to the Bukchon Hanok Village and all that you can see, do, and eat there, it is a doable walking distance, if you are a walker like me, from many of the tourist sites such as Gyeongbokgung Palace, National Folk Museum, Insadong Street, Samcheong-dong Street, Changdeokgung Palace and Secret Garden. I even walked to the Cheonggyecheon Stream and Gwanghwamun Square areas from there. It is a traditional home so just know that the doors and walls are not as thick as modern buildings so you can hear other guests at times but there are curtains to add layers of privacy and close out sound. The bed was more comfortable than I expected and the bathroom was clean and efficient. I am used to the bathroom style, which is a shower, sink, toilet all in one combo so was fine with that. The breakfast was amazing! Loved the Korean pancake and all the side dishes. The family was welcoming and hospitable and made you feel like you were staying in their home with them (they used to live there but now live down the street).

An excellent traditional Korean experience
My two daughters (ages 23 and 21) and I spent two nights in the Bukchonmaru Hanok Guesthouse in May and enjoyed it immensely. The house is beautifully cared for and the location excellent for touring around the Hanok traditional village and the palaces in the area. We had their family room, actually two rooms with private bathroom (with a standard toilet). I enjoyed trying out a Korean breakfast for the first time and my one daughter dressed up in a Hanbok, the traditional dress. Our hosts were helpful and very friendly.

Memorable Stay
Service, Location, traditional stay
First of all thank you for the very good service that Bukchonmaru gave to us. We booked for this guesthouse because we want to experience the traditional way of living in Korea staying in hanok, trying up their hanbok for free, and enjoying the korean breakfast that they cooked for us. I have to highly commend the very good service they provided us, from the start of booking to arriving in Korea and staying at their guesthouse. They even allowed us to change our booking on a much earlier date because we encountered problems on another event that we were booked at. And the good thing about that is the change happened on the same day, while communicating with each other through we chat and email. On another note, the room we booked at was very cozy, we feared that because of the cold weather in Korea (March), we might get colder when we sleep in the floor, but thankfully there is the heated floor system in the room and thus we slept soundly for the night. Our experience on the shared bathroom though was fun since the shower is just above the washbin (it is not the usual setup for a regular house in our country), haha but still we managed and found it very interesting. For the traditional hanbok, we were allowed to take pictures outside and in the room, and the house. Finally, to end this note, this business trip was very memorable for me and my colleague since we enjoyed our traditional stay, the genuine hospitality of the "mother" and her children, and most of all the accessibility of nearby tourist attractions like the palaces and many more. Highly commendable!Hope to stay here soon when we plan our vacation in the future. Thank you soooo much for accommodating us!
