Amazing hostel

Cleanliness, People, Decoration

It was enjoyable and fun; the people were great and friendly, good heating, very comfortable beds with pillows provided though not duvet, and sheets are changed everyday keeping environment clean and neat. Bathrooms were clean and functioning well. There were lockers to keep your personal belongings and kitchen was clean and tidy.

Great Stay at Bus Hostel

Very reasonably priced, very clean and new, small occupancy rooms with single-person bathrooms
8.7
We had a great stay. It was off season, so the two of us had a 4-person dorm to ourselves. The rooms were basic, but very clean and comfortable with lockers and good beds. Although you had to rent blankets, they were nice cozy duvets. The bathrooms were big, single person rooms, so no need to shower in a public stall. Kitchen was well stocked with appliances and utensils. There was also a funky common room and bar downstairs. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Only a couple small mix-ups by new trainee staff. Located a little further than some other hostels, but it was a 10 min walk from the central bus station, and still easy walking distance from downtown Reykjavik. I would definitely recommend staying here!

Charming and super clean hostel in Reyjkavik

The friendliness and efficiency of the staff, super clean beds and bathrooms and its quirkiness.

Despite the 10-15 minute walk from the bus depot, I loved this hostel!!! Like the other reviews, the staff were super super friendly, spoke perfect English, efficient and they will try and help you the best they could and that's a major plus for me. (as I had a lot of questions and organised trips I wanted to partake) They organise the Northern Lights tour (and Blue Lagoon) for you too if you haven't yet. Though the kitchen is left through the kindness of its guests, the rooms and bathrooms are immaculate!!! One of the only hostels I've seen like this. It was mid-winter so it was a bit quiet and I had the room to myself. Lucky!!! The real price chuncher for me was the quirkiness of the bar downstairs. With old furniture and lamps and paintings on the wall, it's hard to come by old charm like this these days which makes Reyjkavik so much more special. Look out for the surprise item in the bar. Make sure you take a pic.

One of the best!

Cleanliness, Value, Comfort

If you don't care about location then you can't go wrong here. - Location: at least 2km from city centre, 10-15 minute walk (~1km slightly uphill) to BSI bus station where you can catch bus to Airport and basically to anywhere, 10 minutes to the nearest convenient store. - Facilities: VERY CLEAN! Shared shower but by no mean "public showering", only one person can use the room at one time which is a relief, and very clean (again!) just like at home. Best common room ever, fully equipped kitchen, free toast 6-9pm in the morning, laundry room, very pleasant atmosphere throughout the hostel... I can list more, but imagine perfection. - Things to note: blanket to be rented for ISK1000 for your whole trip (bed only has pillow and linen), short of staff sometimes (not really an issue though!) Tips: the more people dorm tends to be full while my 4-bed dorm was occupied only by myself for most of my stay (price difference £5-7 per night)
