Grups Spain, 10 / juliol / 2012	hostal de mochileros de paso el precio del hotel, la amabilidad, la limpieza 8,3 elegimos este hostal porque ibamos a pasar por phuket de paso. nuestro vuelo llegaba a las 2 de la madrugada y teniamos intencion de coger el ferri a phi phi a las 8 de la manyana, asi que cogimos lo mas barato que vimos ya que unicamente estariamos 4 o 5 horas. el hostal cumplio con su cometido perfectamente: limpio, el personal muy amable nos hizo la reserva para el ferri mas barato contratando una van para llegar al puerto, nos dijo donde desayunar... lo peor, es un poco ruidoso, cualquier persona que camine parece un elefante en una cacharreria y hacia un poco de frio, nada que con unos tapones y una chaquetilla no se arregle. no lo recomendaria para estar mas de 1 noche a menos que sea por tema de precio. por lo demas, muy bien.

Viatgers en solitari Australia, 5 / març / 2013	well located good value close to town central,fresh food marketstransport to the beaches. good travel desk and now quiet and cooler dorms 7 Unlike the aircon rooms which are located in a reconditioned building a few doors down the road, the fan rooms are at the rear of the main building – adjacent the small garden area. You will find bigger, less expensive fan rooms in Phuket town but I keep returning to Phuket Backpackers because of its good position (adjacent the fresh food markets, a 24 hour 7-11 supermarket, the bus stops to the beaches and close to town central shopping and other businesses) and its good travel desk (now at the main bar) where ferry tickets to the islands are appreciably cheaper than at the pier and include free van transport. My room was just big enough for two people and their gear and had a comfy bed and pillows,an old tv and an easy chair. It was just about due for a repaint and some tlc. Being out the back it was pretty quiet. The bathroom had good hot water, towels + toilet paper but no soap. Lighting was okay. Main complaint was that heat soak from the roof made it pretty hot – the fan was okay but people who like their cool should maybe look at the aircon rooms. The backpacker kitchen is nearby to brew up a cuppa or prepare a meal (there are also plenty of hot food choices out on the street and in the markets) , adjacent the kitchen is a tv/video/free computer (only 2 these days) room and the lively pub/lounge is out fronting the street. Wondering if pub noise had spoiled the partly-overhead dorm area I went up and checked it out. The good news is that sound proof doors have been installed which keeps outside racket to a minimum (including 4am set-up noise at the markets which used to be a problem for dorms overlooking the street) – the doors also keep in cool air from 2 big aircon systems so even though the dorms are classed as fan they were appreciably cooler than when I have stayed up there. The dorm area including bathrooms was as spotless as usual.

Parelles Canada, 25 / febrer / 2013	stop over rest on the way to phi phi fairly close to rasada pier 6,7 we came in on a late flight into phuket (nightmare at the airport btw) and our cab dropped us off around 1am. there were friendly people at the reception and also there is a bar with pool tables so the place was fairly lively. living area at the back so it was pretty quiet for us to sleep though. bathrooms were old and pretty dirty. windows didn't work either. it was cheap and we just needed a bed for the night. ok for price.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: its located in walking distance to phuket old town. and buses to the beaches and other places stop right beside the hostel.

Reasonably prices, did everything they said they would but they need to keep the restaurant open later! 7,7 We enjoyed out time here enroute to Phi Phi (as most are I guess). We had a double room, close to the reception area. They helped us hire a bike to explore the Island and also had lots of DVDs and Games to play when looking to Kill time. Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Head to the Sunset point, at Sunset! Is a lovely headland and often gets spectacular sunsets!

Grups Australia, 29 / novembre / 2012	Good position for ferry travellers Clean, great travel desk; 10 minutes to ferry; central position close to markets, shopping, some nightlife, transport to other Phuket locations. 8 Phuket Backpackers has an ideal position for people landing in Phuket and wishing to catch a ferry south. It is only a few km from the pier, has an excellent travel desk that manages to sell ferry tickets considerably cheaper than at the pier (go figure) and the price includes free van transfers to the pier. The central position within Phuket town is pretty good too – adjacent you have the fresh food markets, the songthaew (small public bus) stops for the beaches and most other Phuket island destinations, a 7/11 and several budget priced Muslim general and vegetarian restaurants. General shopping and some night-life venues are pretty close. I’ve stayed many times in Phuket Backpackers squeaky clean budget backpacking dorms but this is the first time I’ve used their double rooms. These used to be in a small garden setting behind the backpacker area but it seems recently they have purchased and refurbished a hotel about 3 places north on the street which has given them an extra 20 units minimum. Our room was clean, spacious, king bed pretty firm but not the killer some Thai beds can be. Quiet aircon and fan no hanging areas for clothes. Okay bathroom with good hot water, towels, toilet tissue but no soap. All rooms are set back from the street so miss the market set up noise that begins maybe 4am. Hotel Feature Tip: -Your security door electronic disk works on the entrance to the backpacker section which is handy if you want to access the free computers, movies on the big screen or hot water/cooking facilities in the small kitchen. -The backpacker section has a new bar/reception area streetside – your taxi/shuttle will drop you here. If you are staying in the backpacker dorms it might pay to ask for one not close to the street to avoid the bar’s noise plus traffic and market set up stuff which begins before sunrise. -The market is a terrific source of fresh and cooked food. The cheaper section is across the road up a small lane. There are also some good budget clothing places up there. -There is a bar/restaurant playing cool live music within 10 minutes – turn right out of PB, walk 80m to big roundabout, turn left, walk another 80m or so.

Grups France, 8 / octubre / 2012	Great hostel but poor location Very clean, friendly staff, everything that you need 8,7 If you plan on going to the beach or partying at night, don't stay in Phucket town, but rather Patong... Better yet take a ferry to Koh Phi Phi. There is nothing to do in Phucket town, where the hostel is, and travelling to or from Patong at night can only be done with cabs, which will cost you.

Viatgers en solitari Indonesia, 21 / setembre / 2012	great location & place to know other travelers i like the location because easy to get Songteaw(which is cheaper than tuk tuk) 6,7 I love when i was staying here. I met travelers from other country and the food stalls near hostels sold a lot of cheap foods. but it is not comfortable when you bathing because the some bathroom they just close it with curtain from plastic. i recommend to walking around the streets near the hostels also eventhough i got lost after that i'm really thank to lady who gave me lift went back to hostel. in phuket town we can see chinatown thai version, tai hua museum(if i'm not wrong), some famous restaurants such as natural, suay, and blue elephant restaurant. near central local street food . Nightlife Tip: i went to a bar near the chinatown here and it is not bad. actually, it was my first experience went to bar and drunk the most famous thai beer Chang..:p
