Don't believe the pictures
Staff was nice.
I had high expectations from the reviews and was very disappointed. First of all, the hotel is a 3 hour drive from Tacloban airport at a cost of 8000 php /round trip. It literally is in the middle of nowhere. The only restaurant is an Andok's across the street (fast food chicken which actually is not bad). The hotel is quite outdated. The pool was small and dirty. It is on the ocean but has little to no beach. There is reef everywhere and is a little dangerous to swim. I was told there are sea urchins. Surfing was actually pretty fun but had to be careful of the reef. The staff was quite polite. The restaurant food was average to poor. Absolutely no internet. Would not recommend this hotel.

Great Escape from the NORM
Sunrises, Nature, Seclusion
We stayed for a week, rented a motorcycle and every day we went exploring. We arranged lots of activities lead by locals who were not professional tour guides, just people sharing their local knowledge who we met while out exploring the island on our own. It was some of the best caving and snorkeling we've done. If you’re looking to get away from it all, this is the place.

A Tropical Island Paradise
Ocean view, lots of greenery, friendly staff, lovely room, relaxing
Three of us (a couple and myself) stayed in a tropical villa at this hotel on Calicoan Island. The villa and the surrounding garden were both lovely, and the manager and other staff were all friendly and welcoming. They had time for their guests, and we felt very at home. The hotel itself was rather quiet, but that was what we were after. A short tricycle run from the hotel lies a small town where we walked around and eventually hired a local to take us out in a boat. A very nice experience. I highly recommend this hotel for friends or couples who wishes to have a relaxing weekend or week, and as a bonus, the area is also good for surfing. If you are seeking to party every night, this is not the hotel for you.

"One of the beautiful resorts in Samar"
the rooms, the surroundings, the beach, the pool
my husband and i would usually grab a time for our children by having vacation just around samar and leyte for them to see the bright side of the world nearby. calicoan surf camp is one of the most memorable places we have been. if we are to describe it, the cottage we chose was comfy, more than enough to satisfy from what we expected. the environment was so serene due to the breeze coming from the big waves of the sea. although we did'nt had the chance to swim by the shore, we actually ran out of time because we had fun swimming in the salty pool (as if we werae taking a bath in the beach already).
