Nice place- but over hyped online
clean, safe area, friendly staff
Over all our stay was nice, we stayed there over the Christmas break in Dec 2014 and enjoyed our time there. However there were a few issues; when we arrived our room door didn't lock, the wifi didn't work and the TV reception was fuzzy at best. We were told that the door had recently been change and that they would fix it for us the following morning. The door was fixed by the time we got back in the evening the following day, however the wifi took 2 days to get repaired. When it was working the wifi was a little slow and you could only connect 2 devices to it a day, but served its purpose. The TV stayed off the whole time as the signal could not be improved. Breakfast was the same everyday (English breakfast) which got a little boring (as we were there for 10 days) it tasted good though, the portion was a reasonable size (not this huge servings I read about online) and served at a time convenient for you. We stayed on the top floor in the room with the private balcony… well technically it’s not actually private as it wraps around to the kitchen and lounge area, so any other guest could potentially walk around and see you in your birthday suit (although we were assured that other guests were told not to venture into that part of the balcony) or a compromising position! Lol The open plan shower in the room was always going to be a strange one for me, it worked out ok although all the windows in the room did get steamed up every morning because of it. We felt safe in the area where the guesthouse was located however it is up a super steep hill and a little out of the way from the beaches and sights. The bus stop is near to the house, but honestly you really need to use cabs or personal car to get anywhere in Cape Town in my opinion so the bus isn’t really a viable option. Room Service was good, the lady who worked there was really friendly and kept the place clean, tidy and well presented. I probably wouldn’t stay there again mainly because of the location.
