Comfy bed,The lounge fire. Old world charm.

Not good. High tea awful and room issues. The 1st Room had fumes of Bleach. 2nd room upgrade only because the spa did not work was the reason given to us.But the heater did not work in the new room, so a wheeled room heater did arrive. The shocking food at the Grand High Tea. Ham, cheese and tomatoe sandwich on thin pressed down white bread, old looking salmon which had grey edges, plain custard in a small tart. Bland quiche. The crusts were left on the sandwhich & cut in 2 large halves.High tea came on 2 large plates cakes and all. Instead on the high stand as in the photos. We complained and then after a long period of time (25 minutes) later came the one and only pre ordered egg sandwhich when told it would only take 10 min.So the tea went cold waiting. Grrr. It was like a school tuck shop food. Then there was the stale"cake pop" with choci sprinkes on a stick!!!. Their female chef was not willing to attend to the correct food option which was emailed well ahead of time, for the 1 request. The staff just stared at us when we said it was not good enough,as if we should just accept it. One waiter did offer a pizza to make up for the awful experience, but then came back to say that his manager said No, you will not get anything. A different Manager the next day did take the Pizza cost off the bill when we told him how upset the whole experience was. After all, it says "Grand High Tea" It was more like come to the school yard and have a plate of sandwiches and odd ball creations and a pop tart. The worst high tea ever of my vast experience in attending High Teas around Australia and overseas.

A good experience. I don't really want to say more but I have to write at least 50 characters, so this is what you get.
