About Castlereagh Boutique Hotel

Description

This elegant boutique hotel is a heritage-listed property located in the heart of Sydney’s commercial, retail, and entertainment centers. It is situated just two blocks from David Jones and 15 minutes from Circular Quay with easy access to public transportation and a variety of commercial venues. The dining room, Cello’s, has been restored in exact detail to its original 1920s decor. The restaurant serves the finest cuisine available in an atmosphere that is reminiscent of a time past. The function facilities are ideally suited for business conferences as well as weddings. The Castlereagh Boutique Hotel is the ultimate location of seclusion, like being in a time of old, yet still situated close to the hustle of modern city life.

Slightly disappointed
The room was very clean and tidy. Disappointed as I had booked a queen room. It was definitely not a queen bed, so do not be misled by this kind of booking!!! No light in the hotel. Our room had a tiny window which did not lead to sunshine what so ever. I thought if I went to the dining/bar area I could get some natural light. forget that one as it did not happen!! I would only recommend this hotel for a one night stay unless you are a vampire and like total darkness!!

Awful experience
Agoda cancelled the booking due to a fraud on my card. Therefore they had no card details. I rang the hotel to explain this and was assured that my booking was safe. When I arrived I was met by a pompous conceited duty manager who would not accept my story and virtually told me to go. After 45mins he accepted my story and we had a room. No natural light. So dated. Do not stay at this hotel. You have been warned

good location quaint building
Good spot to base yourself for a Sydney holiday. Close to everything especially the Asian food areas with a lot of cafes and restaurants especially a bit further south. The place isa little old worldly, what would you expect I suppose in the Masonic Club. There is a bar and restaurant inhouse inc a reasonably pricd breakfast, buy your voucher the night before to save money.
