Cebu Guest House

just too far away from the airport, the taxi cost me much more than the dorm fee
Nightlife Tip: there's a very good thai massage near guest, even better than my experience in thailand

Good low-budget, no frills hotel.

Central location in uptown Cebu City.
the room was adequate if small. it was sometimes a challenge to gain access to the solitary bathroom.

you get what you pay for

the guest house was ok but there was no cleaner or changed sheets in the week i was there have to say i was there during sinulog week so all hotels prices had trebled in price.
Nightlife Tip: mango square is a 5/10 min walk away , lots of nightclubs etc there

overpriced and under par

cable TV and the staff were nice
I've stayed in hostels all over asia and this has to be one of the crappiest places. We went during the Sinulog festival in Jan when they bumped up the rate which was a rip-off. location: pretty good. Walking distance to Ayala terraces and Fuente Circle. Staff: Friendly enough, but not too knowledgable about what to do and where to go breakfast: very basic, no frills, staff helping themselves to the food. They close the breakfast early without warning. wifi: only available in the courtyard areas. No access from rooms. Bathroom: Basic. shower had 2 settings: scolding hot or cold. The toilet and shower are combined. Room: small and basic - good enough. The communal washrooms and toilets looked scary. The walls are so thin that you can hear everything nearby and in the street. We didn't have a window as such, but some kind of opening near the ceiling that let in the light every day. I will not be staying here again and will not be recommending it to anybody. The best thing about the room was the TV, but didn't appreciate the dodgy bed sheets. If I had paid the regular price it may have justified the place, however, as they raised the prices, it warrants a negative review. even as a cheap hostel, it is below par. Perhaps some maps and guides at the front desk would have helped. Stayed January 2012, travelled with friends
Restaurant Tip: Check out the giant hamburger at The Green House.

Great for Sinulog Festival
Descent room with aircon. Don't expect a room in a 5 star hotel. This is a budget room. Staff was nice. Had a great time for the Sinulog festival because of Cebu Guest House!! Thank you!!

Helpful staff with laundry service and kitchen

hot showers and central location
Some rooms are better than others at the guest house. The staff will help you change room. The on-site laundry service is great. Avoid the first floor rooms. The second floor rooms are a large improvement over the first floor rooms.
Shopping Tip: The Cebu Guest House is close to the Ayala Center/mall and a great bakery that is good for breakfast.

Good Budget Hotel

Excellent value for money very suitable for backpackers
only stayed for 4 nights as i had local company and tended to 'island hop'. smaller room than when i stayed last year but the price was still fair. good economic base particularly if you intend to 'move around'. staff were friendly and helpful but take care if you like walking solo particularly around mango square near nightlife as people (children) will snatch your wallet or purse in a flash !
Nightlife Tip: Single guys try to avoid 'girlie' bars as bills can 'run up', stick to standard clubs such as'Juliannas'.

Good for the budget but cleanliness is lacking

Have stayed here before but it has expended and added new features: laundry, meals, gift shop, bar. Room was adequate but not so clean and shared bathroom often out of toilet paper. But I guess there are some things you put up with because of the price. Shared a room with a mouse which did not seem to affect the office. Staff friendly but does not go out of their way as was the case when i reported the mouse. Had to ask for sheets to be changed and room cleaned.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Location is good for walking and many jeepnies go by the front for public transportation. They will also arrange for reservations for dancing inmates whichf if you're there on the last Saturday of the month is a must see.

Great deal at convenient location

Price, kitchen, location
was pleasant stay. they rent motorcycles for better price than other places i checked out. jeepneys to everywhere stop right outside, but if you are going north or east, if you walk around the corner at traffic hour you will save ten minutes as that is how long the left turn takes (in a taxi or a jeepney)do not eat at poeyes gril next door - worst food i've had in cebu, worst service, do not understand simple english, and high prices to boot!!! much better food at jollibees next door and much better prices. restaurant across the street is also ok.

Good kitchen, great price, convenient location

many jeepneys pass by in front, several 24 hr restaurants within one block walk, grocery store walking distnace, nice people, clean kitchen, good wi fi
Enjoyed it. Have stayed there many times. Guests are interesting and nice and from all over the world. Staff is nice. Kitchen is clean. Location is convenient with jeepneys stopping in front. Three 24 hour restaurants within one block walk. Dancing at Mango square is only a 7 minute walk away. Most malls are an 8 peso jeepney ride away.
Nightlife Tip: Mango Square is just up the street. Interesting place with dance clubs etc and much night life. But be careful - Just go to dance and have fun. Find your dates at the malls. Save money on taxis - the jeepneys stop right in front and go to the malls and most other places and cost only 8 pesos.
