Good value for money

Perfect location almost in the center, nice atmosphere, friendly and helpful staf.
7.7
We had in good stay with 4 people in 2 double rooms (103 and 105). The (standard) rooms with their own shower have comfortable beds and are clean. The staf is very helpful and friendly (24 hour service). Our rooms where on the (Talbot-) street side of the guesthouse. If you're an early sleeper (we are not) there's street noise until late in the evening / night. The breakfast is full Irish and of good quality and served in a nice restaurant on the first floor. Located in Talbot street you are just minutes away from Dublin center like O'Connell street or Trinity College or Temple Bar (just a few minutes walk). If you don't like to go far for a good pint of Guinness or ale, there's the Celt bar just two doors down the street. It has a nice genuine atmosphere with a lot of locals coming there, and there's live music every evening.... In short: good value for money.

OK location, very small and noisy rooms!

Breakfast
6.3
Location of the hotel was OK. It was about 10-15 min walk from Template Bar area. It was about 5 min walk from a place to catch the Hop-on/hop-off dublin bus tour. Breakfast in the morning was good. Only issues was that it is a very noisy area, and we heard people throughout the night (it was a saturday night!) until about 6am signing and dancing down the street and in the bar downstairs. Also the room was very small, and we had to open our bags on the bed.

Celtic Lodge Dublin

Well located
3.7
The hotel is well located. There are free transfers from airport to hotel and vice versa. But upon landing at the airport no one is able to give direction, thus had to pay for the transfer. But they do the free transfer for hotel to airport at alternate hrs. As for the room, it is very small compared to others around that area and I didnt find it clean as you can see thick cobwebs on top of the door and ceilings. The beds/mattress was very worn off and out of shape. I was expecting a call and the night gurad a gentlemen did not speak or understand English well despite me telling him I am expecting a call and my friend had to call a few times informing him the room number but he kept insisting on making reservations. Puzzles me as Dublin is English speaking and they have a guy who doesnt speak English doing his duty and not able to undersatnd and speak fluently. Breakfast was reasonable but service was so so.
Restaurant Tip: Good restaurant just beside the Celtic serves good Irish stew and Beef with Ale!!!
