Rooms need updated bedding and new carpet.
The shuttle driver was an excellent guide and offered to drive us to nearby restaurants and shopping if he was available. Check in was efficient. We did not experience any problems, but safety in the area was a concern. There were no decent restaurants or convenience stores within walking distance. The business center in the lobby was very useful to check email and print boarding passes. The cook in the cafe was excellent. We enjoyed the meal very much. We did not use the tour desk, but thought it was an excellent idea for this hotel. The rooms need to be updated with new bedding and carpet. The rooms are modest and the price was acceptable for the accomadations.

location is awful. The hotel is surrounded by slums and dumps. There are druggies on the streets. The staff does not recommend to walk around after dark but I would not recommend doing it during the day if you have children.
Travel tip : You absolutely need a car to stay in this hotel. The surroundings are terrible you do not want to walk there.

Excellent swift service. Friendly staff both in the Hotel and Breakfast room. Shuttle service very good to and from hotel. Good security 24 hrs.
Area around hotel not so safe but this is complimented by good security.
No restaurant service late in evening.

Stayed 1 night. Good hotel to rest in after a long flight. The hotel was in a dodgy neighbourhood but the security seemed to be on their toes as you could see them walking around the hotel at all hours.
The best western in Irazu was more upmarket as we ahd to pass it but this place was smaller and very relaxing. The beds were comfortable. The rooms were abit worn but everything worked perfectly eg the hot water shower.
Reception staff were extremely efficient.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Easy to get to the town centre. The taxi charged two dollars for two of us to get to the bus terminal for our onward journey.
