Impeccable service, greeted by friendly staff, food was fabulous, views gorgeous. I would like to see newspapers at guest doors. There were no feminine products in any of the public hotel bathrooms. However, once I called the Service Request line, they brought it to me right away. I truly enjoyed the Wyndham Rio Mar Resort and Spa. From the time we were greeted by the Shuttle driver with Ice Cold water to the time we left we have had the best service ever. When we checked in, there had previously been a computer problem and the hotel was not able to program the key cards or charge the credit cards. The bell persons were readily available to take you to your hotel room to open your door each time you needed to go in. The Card Keys were ready by the end of the day and everything else was PERFECT!! We Loved the Beach, Pool, Iguana Feeding and Lush Green Lawns. We plan on having our Wedding there in 2009!!!
Restaurant Tip : It is recommended to buy your own water at a local store, as the bottled water was $3.50 at the hotel, or you could drink tap water. Good idea to rent a car from the Airport - it is less expensive than paying the $60 Roundtrip Shuttle fee per person.

Very clean, high-end hotel. Truly 5-star treatment in all areas. Nice compound, the grounds are landscaped beautifully. Nice beach and very private, no other other hotels next door. Loved the soft lighting all around the hotel. But, a nice bright light in the bathroom or a light-up make-mirror would be nice, the light in the bathroom was too dim. From the shuttle van ride from the airport to the hotel, everything was enjoyable. A very safe, high-class hotel. Extremely clean and well manicured gardens and beach. Friendly staff, wonderful beds, quality linens. Traveling alone, I felt very safe and comfortable at this resort. I only regret one thing. I never got to use the spa. It looked extremely fabulous! (I had too much sun to use any of the services!) I know better for the next visit to Rio Mar; spa first, then sun and surf. I certainly will go back!
Nightlife Tip : Low key evenings, only pianist playing.
