Chalet Suisse Hotel,

Located one block from Plaza Foch in Mariscal. Hotel has casino
Although at least one blurb I read about the hotel said that there was parking, it is only for casino players. The location is great if you like the tourist oriented night life of the Mariscal. The staff were friendly, but scarce. The included breakfast was adequate, but fruitless and meatless; only bread, eggs, juice and coffee. The rooms are adequately sized and clean but frayed around the edges. The 'hot' water in the bathroom wasn't hot and didn't last long. This hotel lacks charm, but does offer the casino and many bars, restaurants and dance places within easy walking distance.

The worst hotel that we stayed in all of Ecuador

This place was really a dump. In the Mariscal area of Quito, this is an old establishment and the minute you walk in, you realize you made a mistake by booking at this hotel. The reception area is totally bare and does not have even one single chair to sit (I have photographs to prove this). When asked about it, the receptionist who could hardly speak Engliush, mentioned that they were all taken by the Casino next door. Inside the room, the closets and doors were all old and wood work was chipped and needed a coat of varnish and refurbishing badly. Bathroom floors were dirty and the towels were really rags and needed replacement a few years ago. The free breakfat which was supposed to be starting at 7 AM next morning eventually started at 7.30 AM, and consisted of a croissant, fruit drink, coffee and egg.
Travel tip: My tip would be that other travelers should avoid this Hotel like Plague! We spent over $62 per night for our stay here, but for a couple of dollars more per night, one could stay in nearby Hotel Quito and as my wife remarked, the difference between the two hotels is like night and day!

Decent Place for the $

Dining on the top floor with nice views.
We stayed here during the "Fiesta de Quito." This is about 10 days (late Nov.-Dec. 6) of people in the streets, loud music, and lots of alcohol and partying. Located in La Mariscal district, this hotel is right in the middle of the action, so expect loud sounds and music until 4am. This is only during the Fiesta de Quito, however.
Restaurant Tip: Great little shawrma (gyro) places to eat nearby. Good food and Cheap beer!

beaucoup d,efforts a faire

situation a Mariscal
