About Champasak Palace Hotel

Once the palace of Jao Boon Oum, the last king of Lao, the structure was renovated into a hotel and retains its former charms. Located in the heart of Pakse District, a short way to the Sedone River and Wat Pra and the Lane Xang Bank, Champasak Palace Hotel is within walking distance of the Tourism Authority and Wat Pra Bat. The town center is a short ride away by local taxi. The hotel boasts beautiful colonial architecture, and the sweeping verandas give majestic views of the beautiful countryside. The rooms have charm and comfort, and a new wing has less expensive but simple rooms that provide a good base to explore Pakse. The restaurant serves good local and international food. Try Delta Coffee, a short walk from the Champasak Palace, which offers some of the best food in town. Opinion of a hotelier
An apparently residential building transferred into a hotel could be a really nice place, but by government involvement it was badly missed! Nothing makes sense, mainly rooms with two doors, one window opening into two public corridors. The charm of the building was gone and the attitude of the staff did nothing to improve it, it would require a major investment by professionals and it could become a real vintage property.

Lovely building Shane about the rooms
Stayed a number of times, this time we paid for 5 nights stayed for two. Hotel looks lovely, rooms old and tired. Beds the worst we have stayed at in Asia, I would pay 50 dollars a night if the rooms were modernised. Great staff the rooms let the place down.

I read in one of the tourist guides, that this is an awfully tasteless building, I must say I found it quite charming and relating to the lao cultural. Definitely would recommend it.

Basic but nice
A pleasant hotel but quite basic in facilities. Reception states there is a fee for using the gym after inspection I assume this was what they would pay me to use it. Rooms are huge and excellent views but air con unit couldn't cope with such a large volume to cool

ok to stay a bit old
the hotel is ok, a bit outside the main areas with restaurant but it is easy walk to the area. The room was a bit old. The wifi was not working well every where.

Nothin special but ok
big room, bath, water provided
We stayed twice one night at the hotel. The hotel is a bit outside the main areas with restaurant but it is a very short walk. The morning was veru noisy, The room was giving on the main entrance and we could speakers. The brekie was ok. The reception was nice, they call our travel agencies because they were late. They have a rooftop bar but it was closed, it is a shame
