Good place to book since it is in the town

closer to man places in the town, room condition, value for money
Rooms were OK and worth it what you pay. But food is not OK and not worth for the money you pay at all. It is closer to the most of places. Staff performance is not OK even though they treated us very friendly manner. Owner of the hotel is a good person and he always try to be good with guests. I recommend to have food from outside and stay there.

Friendly staff, good location

Location, staff
Charlton Guesthouse is within walking vicinity of factors importants to a budget traveller- the railway and bus station, affordable good, main attractions. The staff will gladly assist with providing directions. Room is old with quite a few mosquitoes and mosquito nets with holes, so be sure to bring repellents and sprays.

Nice experience in the Sacred City of Kandy

Location, Comfort, and Good Staff
I wish I can come back to Kandy. A lot of Muslims food and nice city. The stays is marvelous. Central location where you can just walk to the Dalada Maligawa temple and Kandy lake. It's nit far from the railway station too. The owner helps me almost with everything. He even lend me some money, since I haven't got a chance to exchange money as I arrived late to the city. So, if you want a value for money hostels - this is one of the option!

unclean and not worth the money

location is the only good thing
rooms not clean, most room without windows(or just very little windows to enter some light) opened kitchen with a bad smell that enters into the rooms. the bathrooms are to share, and the shower is more or less over the toilet; if you have a room in the first floor you need to pass the restaurant to the bathroom). Until very late is was loud, and during nighttime you wake up because of phonecalls in the lobby that you hear very well. i would't stay again in this place.

good location

staff location quietness
It was easy to find . Hotel is easy to see from the street. I stayed in a room with a fan only without a bathroom. There is a restaurant attached also lots of bakeries and restaurants around . It's walking distance to temples and the lake

Value for Money

Reasonable Price, Friendly Boss, Strategic Location.
The stay here was good. The boss was very friendly and hospitable in making sure we feel at home. The rooms are also very cheap, as they cater more for backpackers. However, the shared toilets are rather insufficient. The Guesthouse is located in a strategic location, nearby Lake Beira.
