A fair hotel

location, price, hygenice
Facilities are fine, no carpets on floor but just plastic materials, a little bit old and you can see old dirts, but toilet hygenice is fine, acceptable for short trip visit

Great location but the room smells

The hotel's location is great. It is close to a night market where there are tons of street food and bars. The room is small and it smells. I had to open the window to let the fresh air in to get rid of the smell. Overall, the room and the bathroom does not look clean enough. The breakfast is ok

Good hotel and worth money spent

Good location with standard room condition
Room was nice and worth the money spent. Bedding was clean and tidy. Toilet has no seperation between wet and dry floor - once showered, toilet floor was all wet. By the way, there was suana in the toilet - though strange, but very compensated the wet floor. Breakfast was ok - just standard and not much to expect of. Location was fine and in walking distance from nearest MRT (Shandao Temple Station).

Very dated but located near eateries & restaurants

located near convenience stores, eateries and restaurants
i would not go back there again. charming castle hotel is very dated and not really well maintained. the flooring feels greasy while barefooted. the shower area isnt separated from the rest of the bathroom. so when one takes a shower, the whole area gets wet...well thought out!

Inconvenient, old room and towels dirty

Staff were courteous
Towels were dirty 2 days in a row. Sound proofing poor and could hear people talking, opening & closing doors & showering. Could smell smoke in the room although it's non-smoking floor. Room was old and ceiling very low giving a claustrophobic feel. Poor ventilation. Quite far from MRT with too many drinking places nearby, dark alleys and sleazy shops.

Rather pricey 'budget' accommodation

Location - easy access to the main train station (20 mins walk) and on to other nearby places of interest. Cleanliness - crisp bedding/sheets and towels fresh and replaced every day.
Found the place far too expensive for what it was! Breakfast was the biggest disappointment - had looked forward to the Chinese food, but most of rather small and limited selection was cold (warming containers kept switched off) and unrecognisable; dining experience was made even more unpleasant by loud, shouting Chinese tourists; thankfully, there was a lovely waitress who could speak a little bit of English. Reception staff very efficient (on one occasion asked for the room not to be serviced, as I was going out later on one of the receptionists ran after me to the street to ask if I had changed my mind); also extra bottles of water supplied promptly free of charge. The major problem was the language barrier, but they all tried hard to answer all my queries.
