enough for 3 stars, but bit too expensive

Sauna on room, location (close to Taipei main station), no problems on check-in/out or other organization related issues
We booked a room, agoda was offering for a plus 3000¥ or so total (2 person 5 nights) a slightly bigger room, cause we were unsure about bedsize, so better double something how it was called, and then without knowing we had Sauna inside, which was a very nice surprise and obviously a more relaxing stay. The breakfast was not very good, but also not bad. It depends on the taste. The I would say limited fruit bar (three types, each a normal plate, lil bit bigger) was not so much supplied, had to be lucky to get some pineapple, so I was missing some more fresh healthy stuff. The coffee machine is good, fresh beans, but there was no fresh cold milk, which I'm used to drink, also no water, only a very sugarish juice. But in general in Taiwan I realized drinks in restaurants are not very much discussed (at least not for lunch), offered, not even on the menu. Staff was always very polite, friendly and could speak even Japanese, not so good English though, but it's not an English speaking country so no claim at all. All in all I want to say thank you again and I would book the hotel again, in case I don't find something cheaper with the same conditions (75,000¥ for 2 persons, 5 days, 72,000 without Sauna I guess, so expensive? Don't know.). Actually we are considering to go again since the country has much to see and the street food is good and more than affordable.

Requirement not met
I required for a queen size bed but ended up with 2 single bed. The reception told me that all the queen size bed are not available. The worst part is that the tone from the receptionist is not good , it makes me feel that the hotel is not at fault .

A fair hotel

location, price, hygenice
Facilities are fine, no carpets on floor but just plastic materials, a little bit old and you can see old dirts, but toilet hygenice is fine, acceptable for short trip visit

Great location but the room smells

The hotel's location is great. It is close to a night market where there are tons of street food and bars. The room is small and it smells. I had to open the window to let the fresh air in to get rid of the smell. Overall, the room and the bathroom does not look clean enough. The breakfast is ok

Good hotel and worth money spent

Good location with standard room condition
Room was nice and worth the money spent. Bedding was clean and tidy. Toilet has no seperation between wet and dry floor - once showered, toilet floor was all wet. By the way, there was suana in the toilet - though strange, but very compensated the wet floor. Breakfast was ok - just standard and not much to expect of. Location was fine and in walking distance from nearest MRT (Shandao Temple Station).

Very dated but located near eateries & restaurants

located near convenience stores, eateries and restaurants
i would not go back there again. charming castle hotel is very dated and not really well maintained. the flooring feels greasy while barefooted. the shower area isnt separated from the rest of the bathroom. so when one takes a shower, the whole area gets wet...well thought out!

Inconvenient, old room and towels dirty

Staff were courteous
Towels were dirty 2 days in a row. Sound proofing poor and could hear people talking, opening & closing doors & showering. Could smell smoke in the room although it's non-smoking floor. Room was old and ceiling very low giving a claustrophobic feel. Poor ventilation. Quite far from MRT with too many drinking places nearby, dark alleys and sleazy shops.
