Clean and Convenient Location

quiet location, nice updated rooms, right in China town - easy to just start visiting Wats around, close to train and subway
7.7
I recommend this hotel. The rooms have small kitchenettes, safe, blow dryer, and fridge. I liked the updated style of the room. The doors are not sound proof by any means, but we had no problems with to much noise coming in. You can easily get to this hotel by taking the Subway all the way to the end and catching a Tuk tuk for 40 baht. I loved being located right in China Town, which makes for a good launching pad to visit the sites of the city by foot or a short Tuk tuk ride.
Travel tip: If you're coming from the Airport, you can take the BTS Skytrain to where it intersects with the Subway - make a transfer there and take the subway all the way to the end. Finally you can catch a tuk tuk or taxi for around 40 baht.

Value for the money Close to centre of Chinatown

1 minute walk to centre of Chinatown and 8 minutes walk to pier
8.7
You need to walk pass a dark and smelly allyway to arrive the hotel. You also need a map to show the taxi driver. The taxi meter was Bht400 when arrived Chinatown (from airport) but had to pay extra Bht150 as our driver spending a lot of time to find the hotel. It is very close the actions of Chinatown where we always buy dry beef/pork to bring home for relatives. There are a lot of traditional resturants around. You can also walk to the pier take a boat ride along the river. The room is clean although is basic furnished and small. It has a kitchenet which is an extra bonus when we bought take away food as supper. There is 2 computers in the lobby with free internet access.
Shopping Tip: Turn left from the allyway (Soi 8) there are a lot of Chinese shops for dry beef/pork, also there are a lot of traditional Chinese resturants.

Ok budget hotell...

Cheap and ok rooms...
6.7
Booked this because it was cheap... Hotel is average... But better than other hotels in chinatown. Minibar was full for those who care. Free internet by cable(to short). Friendly staff. Ok clean rooms, but as several hotels in Chinatown the have problems with small antz/termits, small numbers though, not a big problem. They serve breakfest in your room, fill out a form about what you want and they deliver it too you in the morning... No extra charge.. If you wanna stay in chiantown this is a ok budjet alternative, been living in 4 different hotels here. There are more expencive ones that are better.

Check Inn China Town

very central location for China Town. Kitchenette a bonus.

China Town is very busy in the run up to Chinese new year. The narrow lanes are very crowded in the afternoon. Stalls open early so it is much more pleasant to stroll around in the morning from about eight o clock. If you want vegetarian food 'little India' to the north edge of China Town has some delicious restaurants.

hotel located next to the market of patpong in a stalemate. professional staff at least initially because they did not like to keep our luggage all day (our flight was at night).

centre of China Town but some rooms No windows

Free internet which most nearby hotel charges
5.3
great location for those want to stay at china town, it is on the main street of china town and night life till 2 to 3am. a
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: when you go to city, you can walk 20 min to hua lomphong which is boring.i would suggest to walk 5 min to ratchawong ferry station. it costs to the ferry central station. but you can enjoy the river view. then you can take bts to many places in bangkok. be aware ferry closes 8pm.

Great Value, Good location

Good location, very clean, friendly staff
7.7
check inn was a surprise. we didn't expect such good quality rooms at that price! place was clean and it even had thick towels with logos on them. location was excellent for shopping in and around chinatown. but don't use it as your hq for other parts of bangkok, as traffic in the area is horrendous!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Beat the traffic jams at Yawarat. Walk to the nearby Ratchawong pier and grab a boat taxi to go sight-seeing. Pier 8 is the stop for Wat Arun, Emerald Buddha temple and the Palace

Value for money but small room

Value for money, helpful staffs
5.3
check inn is clean with kitchenette and cable television which is value for money as i booked twin room last min at a good price. in fact, the kitchenette seems redundant but nice to have. the hotel has no features and use cheap material to provide the basic hotel environment so it's quite noisy and you can hear neighbours talking/ tv. as it is in secluded area, taxi will not know how to go and when leaving, you have to walk to main street to hail a taxi. it is not quite possible to take mrt to hua lumphong as it's quite a distance walk unless one is adventurous. i know bangkok very well and been there many times. it is possible to walk and exercise.
Restaurant Tip: Try chinese claypot sharkfin and bird nest as if Chinatown is famous for them. Good food and cheap in Chinatown.
