A couple challenges at the Boutique

Room was well appointed, inexpensive and everyone was courteous.
7.3
We were on the ground floor next to the pool and close to the breakfast area. Other travelers used the pool late and some others got breakfast early. It was noisy to say the least! Other rooms would likely be better. Also there was an unpleasant sewer smell in the bathroom and the shower drain was slow so you had to shut the water off during your shower to keep it from overflowing. We asked for it to be repaired and the desk person came in to look but she saw no standing water and seemed confused. We left two days later and it was still having problems.

Needs makeover

The pool; the staff andthe location

This is my second visit to this hotel. My first was same time last year and things haven,t changed a great deal. There must be a lot of profit in this hotel because the owners dont spend a penny on maintenance. It has the same old tired breakfast which is build into the room price but GOD you would think they would change the menu or update it. The beds were old and tired and need replacing. There was acomplete pane of glass missing from our bathroom door. Some days hot water was not in existance and the water pressure was a dribble. Noise transfers quite freely between rooms. The rooms themselves are very darkand dingy. One thing they have inproved is the state of the pool from last visit which was very cloudy and murky that seems to have been addressed. On the other hand the owners should give all their staff a pay rise because they were most accomodating and must be getting complaints every day. About myself I have run hotels for twenty years so owners take heed put your hand in your pocket and spend some money on this hotel because if you dont it wont be in business lon

Reasonable value for money

Swimming pool, nice open building, service

Our stay was okay although we didn't get one of their best rooms. Ours did not overlook the pool and was quite small and dark with no windows. Breakfast was poor, two slices of toast, pre-made eggs, plastic like ham and a gross juice. But for the price it was all fine and the pool was a plus! Overall, we would stay here again since it is good value for your money.

Decent stay

Location: the location is good; within walking distance to nightly market, 7/11 and Sunday market.
6.7
The hotel is clean enough and location within the Old City is good. The maid service is timely and efficient. However this is all the positives I can speak of. The water temperature in the shower would not stay a consistent temperature. I constantly switched from extremely hot to cold. The walls in the hotel must be paper thin because you can hear what everyone around you is doing as well as hear all the traffic coming down the streets. I do not recommend this hotel and would not stay here again myself.
