TV facilities in room
This hotel biggest setback is lack of tv inside the room. Even other similar types hotels at the same price range are having TV n satellite channels for guests to watch in riom. It has not been installed since my last stay in June last year.

Great staff good location!
Incredibly friendly and helpful staff especially the young boy from Burma! (Unfortunately can't remember his name!!) nothing was a problem and they were happy to help in anyway they could! Breakfast is not buffet but definitely enough and more importantly served with a smile!! Great location! Doesn't have a pool or any facilities really so if you want it for more then just a room maybe it's not for you!! Couldn't recommend it more highly otherwise!

Windowless room?
Not one review to date has mentioned the fact that the standard rooms have boarded up windows. Which means you need to have the lights on all day. This was a very expensive room for what was a basic small pokey budget room. The breakfast was just ok. However the water was hot and the aircon worked, as did the fan. For this price I expected more that essentially was a two star establishment. My son had a downstairs room and was unable to sleep due to the noise a family with children was making at 1am....and who continued despite being asked by the management to quieten down. All in all in this was extremely disappointing and not a place I could recommend.

A Great Find in a Dynamic Location
This guesthouse was a great find right in a central and buzzing area of Georgetown. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast served each morning was great - orange juice, eggs and toast, tea/coffee and fruit. The room was comfortable and the chanting from the nearby mosque five times a day added to the charm. The guesthouse itself is a heritage building and has a wonderful vibe with all its dark woodwork, open courtyards and shutters. Facilities are clean and basic and I will definitely stay here again when in Penang.
