A nice older boutique hotel near the night market

Location, value, staff
We had a smooth one-night stay at City Centre Hotel on our way between Ho Chi Minh City and Kep. The hotel is located right near the night market and bus stations, so is convenient for travelers passing through, and there are a lot of restaurant and street food options nearby. The hotel seems a bit older and so while the lobby and rooms are nice, the carpeted hallways look a bit stained. One or two of the floors were dark as we passed through on the stairs; makes sense during low season, but also means you have to use a bit more caution when on the stairs (elevator worked fine, we just wanted a bit of exercise). Our room was well-appointed and came with hot water kettle/cups along with the standard bathroom toiletries. The enclosed shower was nice and helped to distinguish this hotel from slightly lower-caliber guesthouse accommodations which typically have the standard Southeast Asia wet bathroom. Wifi was a bit weak up on the 4th floor, probably would have been better down lower. Staff were very courteous and helpful. Would stay here again!

Young Couple

Staff, location and price
Really nice. The staff were great, the rooms were clean and affordable. The only down side was the walls were a bit thin and a French family was loud as hell every morning. Didn't make for a great hangover but nothing the hotel could do!

Can not slept.

Average. Bed & bed stuff needs much improvement

Friendly staff, location is okay
Overall assessment is okay. But: Bed and bed staff look worn. Needs improvement. Light is not bright. Lack of light in the room. Should have automatic turn-off system of all electronics when the card is removed.

Excellent value for money

Location, staff, value for money
I've stayed here a few times. The budget/standard rooms are small but very comfortable bed and nice bathroom. It's all you need if you are out most of the time enjoying Phnom Penh. Good breakfast and staff are great. Location is perfect.

Not too bad but . . .

My room was cleaned very well everyday by the friendly chambermaids. The front desk staff were nice except for one guy. The downtown location is good.
I got a standard room and then after a few nights upgraded to a deluxe which was a little bigger but had no safe in the room. So I had to use the flimsy lockers at the front desk. The problem with this was that they are not monitored at all time which made me feel a bit uneasy keeping my passport and cash in it. I came back to the hotel late one night and had forgotten my room keycard at a friend's restaurant. The man on duty got a bit upset when I asked him to open my room and said, "Why you no have key?" I just told him to do his job and open my room and went upstairs. After waiting 5 minutes, he grudgingly came up and opened the door without saying a word. He needs more training in hospitality. The free breakfast was hit and miss. Sometimes prepared well, sometimes sloppily. The waiter and lady at the front desk and bar were very nice people though and made everyone feel welcome. Overall fair value at $22/night including breakfast except for the rude guy at night, unmonitored front desk lockers and hit and miss breakfasts.

Location, location, location
Rooms are small but clean. It was great for us as we didn't stay in the room much. Shower works well and the sheets and towels were clean.
