Discover the neighborhoods of Bintulu
This coastal town has been at the center of a concerted effort to increase tourism to its charming coast, and the smart tourists who make it a point to spend a few days there are usually in for a pleasant surprise.
The city is accessible by nearly all avenues of transportation, including regular flights serving Bintulu Airport, while express boats from places such as Sebauh and Labang dock right at the port.
Bintulu City Center has seen a lot of growth and investment, including the new waterfront promenade that serves as a great recreational center for locals and visitors. The massive promenade is located right on the river, and is a great place for taking in the views of the water and maybe a sunset or two.
Just a few kilometers outside of the city center, in the town of Niah, is the major tourist attraction of Niah Caves. The caves are often on the itineraries of most people who visit this area, and certainly not to be missed by the adventurous traveler.
Tua Pek Kong Temple is one of the very few Chinese temples in this area, and is a great place in which to experience some of the cultural and religious diversity that exists within Malaysia.
