Top areas in Seoul
Seoul is a city of enchanting history and economic success, a destination worthy of both the leisure and business traveler. International travelers are introduced to the city via the Seoul Incheon International Airport. Short term travelers have the option of modern airport hotels, but it is only a 30-minute ride into the city from here.
Those looking to experience the city’s culture have much going for them. The highlight here would be Changdeok-gung, a royal palace dating back to 1405 and a World Heritage Site. Between the grand sites are a collection of royal shrines, Buddhist temples, and museums. The DMZ, or de-militarized zone separating North and South Korea, makes for a worthy day-trip as well.
Shopping is undoubtedly available in abundance here. The areas around Insadong Street are some of the most famous in South Korea, offering gift shops, art galleries, and traditional tea shops. Myeong-dong offers up-market shopping amongst a collection of Western-styled hotels. In Gangnam, visitors will find the upscale dining and entertainment venues. This district also boasts the city’s latest shops and hotels.
