Class is permanent

Classic design, helpful staff, nice atmosphere
Really enjoyed it. Perhaps you can tell it's 10 years since the *Wallpaper guide award, with some things fading or showing signs of wear, but it's a great, classically stylish hotel, not too far from anything and with very helpful staff. As our first port of call on arrival from London, it was a great way to begin our holiday.

Disappointed, it is tired

Less people, Clean, Wifi coverage
Disappointed, the hotel is no more trendy and gives an impression of old and tired. It is far away from any train stations, but the worst part is the staff, not attentive, not helpful at all. I do not recommend to go Claska, unless you don't need any service or love city hiking.

A Mix Of Old and New

The design, the rooftop, the granola
We had a great time. The room was a wonderful mix of old and new.

Fantastic Japanese flavoured boutique hotel

lovely room,well priced, good location
Has a lovely Japanese flavoured room. Exceptionally well designed. Good bar, really nice staff. The location is fine as long as you are happy walking and exploring the neighbourhood. There are some excellent local places near Meguro station (about a 15 minute walk), and you can walk to Shibuya in about 40 mins. It's probably better for tourists than for businesspeople. Overall I would highly recommend, especially given the pricing which is very reasonable given the quality of the hotel.

A design lover's dream!

Design, restaurant, staff
I'm surprised there aren't a lot of design boutique hotels in Tokyo considering this city is one of the design and fashion capitals of the world. Therefore it was such a nice surprise discovering the Claska. Everything in the hotel spells "cool" - from the shop/gallery to the locals hanging out in its yummy restaurant Kiokuh. The lunch sets were great value for money and the desserts were to die for. My room was huge and the bed was the largest I've ever slept in. I can't wait to go back. Downside is the location for people who are not familiar with Tokyo nor speak the language. I got around just fine and have always loved the Meguro area but I can see this being a bit out of the way for a first-timer to the city.
