An Oasis With An Impeccable Team

Staff, Property, Above & Beyond
Cocotero is our stand out favorite hotel we've stayed at in our month long journey. The bungalows are private and relaxing, the decor is modern and clean. The beds were comfortable and easy to oversleep in, the oversized shower head was wonderful. The turn down service of adjusting your mosquito netting is adorable. Can't say this enoug...the whole staff team is impeccable!!! We actually ran into many problems staying on the island. We had a small accident with our rental scooter, the front desk talked to the rental place and we weren't charged anything for the damage. They were just relieved that we weren't hurt worse. We dropped laundry off at a local shop to be washed, however, the owner never gave our clothes to us at the time promised. We missed our ferry and our flight waiting on this laundry lady. The staff helped us find the clothing, in various states all over the laundry shop's back yard, the shop owner had left town for three days. The hotel staff helped us with damage control and to get ourselves back on the road to Bangkok. They were truly a diamond in the rough and we are so grateful to them.

lovely simple village

clean, friendly staff, close to nature
All villages are so simple but already got everything you need. No TV but WiFi connection is stable. But I enjoyed the quietness at night, which is a total different experience compared with other resorts. A special thanks to the lovely receptionist, she was so nice to help us to get the ferry ticket to our next destination, and keep calling the ferry company for the status of car which was supposed to come to pick us up from the village to pier. She also recommend us to visit northern part of Thailand, hope she can go back to her home town to work soon :)

Hidden gem!

The bungalow itself was amazing and very authentic, it was great value, and i loved the sweet sticky rice balls they served with cofffee in the morning!
My boyfriend and I visited from Canada and spent our full 5 days on Koh Lanta at Cocotero. The bamboo huts were extremely authentic, with bamboo floor-to-ceiling built-out, and a waterfall shower head. The bed itself (although it seemed common every where in Thailand) was quite hard, but after a night or two you got used to it. We spent most of our evenings on the balcony of our hut reading and drinking, which was extremely relaxing. It is located a 3min walk from Klong Dao beach, so you definitely felt like it was beachfront. In the mornings, they served sweet sticky rice balls with the coffee which I was a huge fan of. Only thing to make our stay better would have been breakfast. Overall, a great stay at a great price!

A Great Place to Stay in Koh Lanta

Beautiful Aesthetic, Helpful Staff, Great Location
My girlfriend and I spent three lovely nights at Cocotero resort. It's a beautiful place and eco-friendly, feels a little like camping but in luxurious garden. Was my first time ever sleeping under a mosquito net, but even that was fun. The staff will help you out, give you advice and arrange tuk-tuks for travel. We felt perfectly safe the entire time, the only negative thing I can say is that a lot of cabs don't know where it is yet because it's so new. Upon arrival in Koh Lanta I had to use my cell data to show the cab driver where the resort is located, but we soon realized we could tell tuk tuk drivers that it is right next to Coco Lanta resort and they would know where it is. Cocotero is walking distance to a great beach and a very short/ cheap tuk tuk ride into the heart of the city or the beach restaurant area. All things considered, I would recommend Cocotero to anyone.

Beautiful getaway hotel for a couple or family

Beautiful rooms, near beaches and quiet tucked away location
It was a privilege to stay at Cocotero so early on.. the landscape is just growing now since it's only 4 months started now. First, the bamboo huts are some of the nicest hotel rooms I've ever stayed in, period. The bed was big and luxurious, the bathrooms were lovely and such a treat to shower in an open air bathroom, and the security was flawless. There is no need to worry about getting bit by bugs as they have mosquito netting throughout the night. The host (can't remember his name unfortunately) was just extremely gracious. We arrived late in the afternoon on the first day, and he was nice enough to let us rent a motorcycle free for the rest of the day just to get around. His assistant was also very sweet and helped suggest nice places to visit and to eat during our 3 day stay there. Unfortunately we were in Ko Lanta during Songkran, so the really nice restaurant L.Maladee (which the host highly recommended) was not open :( However there are a lot of great places to eat, including a place about 10 mins walk from Cocotero, called RungRuangThai. The beaches closest to Cocotero were quite nice, and there are a lot of resorts in the area. However be aware that the best beaches in Ko Lanta are further south of the island, although way more expensive! It was nice to be staying so close to Ban Saladan (the commercial area in the north of Ko Lanta), just a 10 minute walk away. The only thing I would suggest is for the Cocotero staff to consider providing simple breakfast or drinks and snacks throughout the day, as occasionally we would get hungry and the only option is to go out into Ban Saladan. Cocotero is definitely a place I would go back to and recommend highly as a great vacation and honeymoon stay!

Friendly and helpful staff, but mosquitoes aplenty

Location, Friendly staff, Inexpensive
Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. Location is at Saladan where there are a lot of restaurants, bars, and local food. Wireless internet is available in the room too. However there are a few things that could be improved on. The mosquito situation is really bad! Prepare lots of repellent if you intend to stay here, and buy the really strong ones! During our stay the entire hotel blacked out and there was no electricity for at least 30 minutes. What made is worse was that there were no staff working at the reception after a certain timing, so all we could do was wait for the electricity to come back. As these are wooden huts, it gets really hot in the afternoon even with the aircon on and we couldn't stay in the room during the day. If you have some time to spare, do visit the Lanta Animal Welfare, Time for Lime Cooking School, and go Koh Rok for snorkeling through OPAL Operators. Some good restaurants are Maladee (right outside Cocotero), Pizzeria Italia (I swear they have the best pizzas on earth). If you have extra cash do have your dinner at Pimalai Hotel at least once, the food is good and service is impeccable.
