Great location - beautiful rooms

The rooms are beautiful, there is an outside garden area in each suite, and the locations is in Penang's cultural district. Perfect.
I absolutely loved my stay at Coffee atelier. The rooms are beautiful, the staff were super friendly, there is a really cute outside shower which looks onto a potted garden in a private courtyard. It's a really cool aspect of this hotel. The only negative for me is that the breakfast is continental, which may be a positive for some people. I just preferred the delicious local food for breakfast.

Old houses which convert to hotels

My room is spacious. The building is still in its old style. The term heritage suit here.
For the one who like historical sites, this hotel located in the right place. But three star are not the right value, from what point of view?? It is really overpriced. The hotel receptionist only open from 8am. In the evening, it's already closed. If you have problem in the evening, no one can help you. They provide bell push button in front of the office but no one answer when we need help. For example, when TV program not function at evening, we didn't know how to contact the staff. No one there. Staff were friendly, breakfast good.

A very unusual hotel

Sensitive restoration of historic buildings, great staff, great location
This is a really interesting and very unusual hotel - in the heart of historic Georgetown. It is a short row of 1920s Chinese houses. The end of the row is a coffee shop / restaurant, with the rest being converted into guest suites. What is unusual, though, is that the conversions have been done extremely sensitively. Most of the original buildings and even many of the original fixtures are still there. Modern amenities, such as aircon and TV have been added, but the floors are original 1920s tile and concrete - covered by rugs for comfort. There is even a kitchen area, complete with a brazier, and the modern shower and toilet are installed in the old bath area, where the scoop shower is still in place. Each room is an entire floor of one of the old houses, and as such is very spacious. Ours consisted of a separate bedroom, dressing room and a large lounge/kitchen area with the bathroom off it. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful, and the food in the cafe is really very good. We will definitely return.

Lovely place with a bit of history & good location

The location, the staff, there's beautiful, albeit somewhat useless, furniture but most thankful for the mozies net on the bed.
