About Colmar Tropicale – Berjaya Hills

Description

This French-themed resort, situated in Bukit Tinggi, rests upon 80-acres of verdant forestland. The hotel itself is positioned 2,700 feet above sea level, adding to the uniqueness of the location. The hotel borrows a distinctive design theme from the 16th century Colmar Village in Alsace, France, and has maintained an authentic European feel since its inception. About 40 to 45 minutes away from Kuala Lumpur, guests visiting can enjoy a host of unique amenities such as the castle drawbridge, a swan filled moat, and a picturesque cuckoo clock tower that mimics the Riquewhir Tower in France. The resort compound boasts a vast selection of dining areas that feature the finest authentic cuisine as well as a distinctive compilation of international dishes. Colmar Tropicale – Berjaya Hills is the perfect venue for guests who look for a distinctive atmosphere, comfortable accommodation, and an amazing selection of on-site facilities.

need improvement
It’s unfortunate I have to write this review. The location of the hotel is good, but to get there will take 1 hour drive. Not many taxis would be keen to go there, unless you give them a price they cannot refuse, it costs me 90 ringgit to come there from Genting highlands. Positive: - The rooms are clean and big enough for 2 people. - The surrounding nature. Negative: - You cannot carry luggage with you on the bus, from Berjaya Times Square to the hotel and vice versa. The ticket will cost you 28 ringgit. - I decided to go for sauna, from the ceiling I saw the biggest lizard in my life, almost 30 CM if not long, appeared from the broken ceiling. - The small film theater for 6D, the workers decided to close it early. (Half an hour before closing time) because they decided to shut the computer down, claiming it was damaged, and asked me to come tomorrow. - Some staff were not friendly in restaurants, as if there were forced to work there. Except the new trainee guy he was trying hard. Over all, it’s a nice place to come only for a day or two. But you have to think about your luggage where to place them in KL before coming.

Splendid Vacation!
The bedroom suite is so spacious that it can actually fit more than 5 person but must bring your own mattress then. I came 3 person and stay in bedroom suite. I love the environment so much. Night view is so romantic. Upon check-in, the staff give us complimentary additional ticket for breakfast. Yay! However the staff also gave us complimentary ticket for Japanese garden Tea. However, to enter the garden, no cost needed. You can rent Kimono for RM20 and I thought the complimentary ticket was for that. But No. The complimentary ticket is useless. No entrance fee needed so no need to purchase ticket. Blergh! However thanks to the staff for complimentary breakfast coupon. The facilities is limited. It is hard to get cheap food around. So make sure bring your own food or if you are willing to pay, why not :). Overall, I'll come again :)

Awesome!
Fantastic view.. Good food. Don't feel like your in Malaysia. The structures were very nice. Breathtaking view. However it's better if you have your own transport so you can drive out instead of staying there only.

Old room, facilities oudated
Room a bit smelly. Quite musty. Probably the rooms had not been refreshed for many decades. Cracked tiles and all. Requested iron and ironing board. The person guarantee that it will arrive within 15 mins. 30 mins passed, 45 mins passed. Called again. Very dissapointed. Had to request again. 15 mins later baru sampai. What a lacksaidal attitude.

Average Stay
Hotel has many creaking parts. Need to fix them properly (e.g. shower curtains, clogged sink).
