This French-themed resort, situated in Bukit Tinggi, rests upon 80-acres of verdant forestland. The hotel itself is positioned 2,700 feet above sea level, adding to the uniqueness of the location. The hotel borrows a distinctive design theme from the 16th century Colmar Village in Alsace, France, and has maintained an authentic European feel since its inception. About 40 to 45 minutes away from Kuala Lumpur, guests visiting can enjoy a host of unique amenities such as the castle drawbridge, a swan filled moat, and a picturesque cuckoo clock tower that mimics the Riquewhir Tower in France. The resort compound boasts a vast selection of dining areas that feature the finest authentic cuisine as well as a distinctive compilation of international dishes. Colmar Tropicale – Berjaya Hills is the perfect venue for guests who look for a distinctive atmosphere, comfortable accommodation, and an amazing selection of on-site facilities. Need more attraction

location is not far from KL, weather is not too hot, nice concept for holiday.
Berjaya needs to come out with more attractions, such as a new French street, and some small scale theme park ride which have minimal impact to the nature, etc to attract recurring visitors.

My stay at Colmar Tropicale

All the basic equipments are available, such as fridge, hair dryer, air conditioner and etc.
The hotel was quite nice, but the smell of the paint was too strong due to the recent renovation perhaps. The air-conditioner was cold enough, however, it is somehow noisy. The others was alright.

Pricy, bad arrangement for check in

Nice view, nice breakfast, spacious room
It was peak season on the day, we reached there around 11am and then proceed for check in and we wish there is a room available so that we can check in early; if no I will hope that the front desk will get us registered first and called us back when the room is ready. But sadly, no registration is allowed and we were told to come back at 2pm. With no other choice, we went to Japanese village for a walk and had our lunch there, and the food price is very expensive compare to a normal Japanese restaurant (food is normal and not extraordinary delicious). We went back to Colmar Tropicale at 1pm and it was super crowded. My parent was very tired so there find a place to sit down and take a nap while waiting for the 2pm check in. At 1.50pm, we proceed to the check in counter, oh gosh, people started to lining up (long queue!!!) and I was a bit angry when I saw the queue. It was like waiting our time to lining up for check in. 15 min later, queue getting longer and longer with 3 counters opened. It took us about 30 min to wait in queue and when it was our turn, we were ask to fill up the guest info which I was wonder, why this form filling up work can't be done when I was here at 11am!!? What I can say, this will be the worst check in experience I ever had.

Overall just nice only, Need to improve.

location, colorful building
Our room is very noisy, the air-con compressors are just in our balcony area, not only our room air-con compressor, others room compressor also located our balcony area. Make our room feel very noisy, cannot sleep well at night. The service in Ole Poulet Roti is no good. Food expensive, food taste so so only.

Good for weekend getaway

French village theme, clean rooms, family friendly
Joni H. Families with young children Indonesia, July 19, 2015
good scenery but not that good

scenery, big room
the scenery is good and unique, with quite many fun activities. Hotel is clean, although abit old but i found that its higher than my expectation (due to reading other comments), water quality is not that bad and we actually use the bathtub Biggest problem is hard and expensive transportation to the place. 200 ringgit for taxi if u cant get the van from berjaya times square. Limited choice of food and expensive ( price vs taste, i wont say expensive if quality match the price ) and bring your mineral water to there cos its 4rm per medium bottle. u only need 1 night cos u can explore most within the time overall, there are more beautiful place to go that wont suck lots of money like this place
