Space, wasted space.

Location, cleanliness, view. But the rooms are bare, some rooms are thoughtlessly laid out. The furniture is wrong. All sofas, one dining chair, and empty space.
This time I was displeased with the room layout, like a straight-jacket. No space around the kitchenette. Only one chair on the dining table and no study table. I was in another wing on my last trip, and that room was laid out much better. The one bedroom suite I had booked was a disaster. The living room was empty. So how do you use all that space. I settled for a studio apartment because it felt more livable. Look at a few rooms before you settle for one. 24hr supermarket next door lets you use the amenities in your room. Some restaurants and clean massage places down the soi. I will go back again.

Great rooms - facilities average

the location, the rooms, the staff
the rooms are amazing - great views, very spacious, presented very well. We didn't use the restaurant but did use the bar area a couple of times which was also very nice with the views. Our only criticism is the pool area - because it belongs to the restaurant is closes as 6pm. The deck is made from Perspex which as slipper and had cracks in it so we didn't feel safe walking on it. the ladder nearly lifted out of the floor boards as you tried to pull yourself out of the pool. there was very little space to "relax by the pool" - not what I expected.

Stayed for two night and had another two night stay booked at the end of our Thailand trip, but Cancelled the 2nd Stay. 3 Cockroaches in the Kitchen and a very Aged Room. Not a 4 STAR Hotel

Homey stay

Cleanliness, homey feel, good location
A good surprise.. I was not expecting the level of comfort, but it has gone beyond the expectation. The washing machine and the dryer makes all the convenience for a light traveler.

Great stay!

Location, food, convenience
My second stay at The Column. As usual, the room is big and spacious and equipped with all the necessary amenities. Wifi was a bit slow though, but as I had a tourist SIM so it was quite ok for me. Location of the hotel is within 5 minutes walking distance to Asok BTS. From there, you can also walk to Health Land to get a massage. There is a 24 hour supermarket and eatery next to the hotel so it is very convenient for you to get food and snacks. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay and I wouldn't mind staying there again.

location size wifi
The check in was quick. Nice condo/apartment with basic and functional furniture. There is a nice view on Bangkok. Could not find the swimming pool (under renovation?) and the gym is a bit depressing. There is a food court next to the building and skytrain is walking distance.

Best deal in Bangkok

location, room size, restaurant
I've been coming to Thailand for 30 years and I finally found a hotel in Bangkok that has everything I want: location near BTS/MRT, on-site restaurant, quiet and homey neighborhood, huge room, fantastic view, and perfect friendly staff performance. It doesn't get better than this! The best supermarket in Thailand for buying Western branded high-quality food is open 24 hours a day at the entrance to the hotel. Plus they have a very high-class and interesting restaurant on-site (The Long Table). I think calling it one of the top 500 restaurants in Asia is way overstating it; the restaurant at the Grande Sukhumvit is vastly superior in every way, but it is better than most hotels. I don't know of any other serviced apartment with any kind of restaurant at all, and having Foodland at the front door more than compensates for what I thought was very mediocre salmon, compared to Grande Sukhumvit where the same dish was world class--at three times the cost!
