What's nearby?
  • Walhalla Historical Township - Take a drive through the majestic mountain rivers country & be transported back to a bygone era. Walhalla is a special place, it stands almost frozen in time much as it was a hundred years ago. It was a bustling gold mining town in the late 1800 s and then was the second largest town in the whole of Gippsland, with a population of over 3000 residents. Warragul Museum and Historical Buildings - The court house in Smith St, built in 1887, is classified by the National Trust, while the Wesley Uniting Church in Victoria St opened in 1889. The Warragul Historical Museum, containing local history and dairy exhibits, is situated in the old shire hall (1892). Of further historical interest is the Warragul Vintage Craft Park in Copelands Road which contains functioning examples of old farm equipment, a miniature steam train which carries visitors through the park and gardens, as well as barbecue and picnic facilities. Entrance is free and there is a playground for children. Top Activities For DROUIN Gippsland Gourmet Trail - Delight the eye & tempt the tastebuds as you meander through the lush rolling green hillsides in this superb area surrounding Drouin and Jindivick. Through this beautiful countryside you can soak in some true country ambience and hospitality. You may wish to visit the producers and growers of wines, cheeses, smoked goods, berries, bread makers or catch some fresh trout or salmon. A visit to one of the delightful markets such as Rokeby, Drouin Farmers or Gippsland Inspirations in Yarragon is a treat or purchase local produce at the well stocked delis in Neerim South, Warragul or Yarragon. The area is also home to many artisans, craft and antique businesses. It is best to visit on the weekend when the majority of businesses are open. Ada River Vineyard - At 2330 Main Neerim Road, Neerim South, is the Ada River Vineyard which was established in 1991. It produces traminer, chardonnay, pinot noir and cabernet sauvignon and the cellar door is open from 10.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. weekends and public holidays. There are picnic areas, tel: (03) 5623 1342. Wild Dog Winery - Wild Dog Winery, established in 1982, is located 3 km south of the freeway on the Warragul-Korumburra Rd. It produces shiraz, cabernet sauvignon, pinot noir, chardonnay, Riesling and rose. The cellar door is open from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. daily, tel: (03) 5623 1117.

Drouin is 97 kilometres southeast of Melbourne. The Best Western Drouin Motor Inn is conveniently located on Princes Way as you come into Drouin. Follow the signs to Drouin on the M1 Freeway. Turn off at the Drouin exit and travel east along the old Princes Highway (which turns into Princes Way once you approach Drouin Township) to the Best Western Drouin Motor Inn.
