Architecturally designed by George Frew and featuring 320 elegant rooms, this hotel is inspired by traditional Korean architecture that reflects the Palace of Joseon Dynasty. The Commodore Hotel is 17km from the Gimhae International Airport, and a five-minute walk from Busan Station and the ferry terminal. The hotel is surrounded by a number of great attractions, such as Taejongdae, Yongdu-San Park, Gukje Market, Daecheong Park, International Market and Jagalchi Fish Market. Resembling a folk museum, the five-star hotel is decorated with traditional pictures and engravings, with a lotus ceiling and dragon-shaped handrail. The opulent design of the hotel has made it a popular international tourist destination for over 20 years. Hotel was impressive to look at but on closer examination rather run down. It needs an upgrade to match the exterior. The non-smoking room had clearly been a smoking room for many years and still smelt. Plastic filler around bath. Only hand shower. Holes in the carpet All just a bit run down

Close to shopping

The biggest hotel in the area. English speaking staff. Close to local shopping areas.

We had an acceptable stay in the hotel. We booked a semi suite room, which was smaller than expected for our family of 5 people. Hotel has only double beds available. Room rate does not include breakfast, but there's a few local restaurants just outside the hotel street. Hotel is on a hill. Walking to the famous Gukje(kukje) market will take about 15-20 minutes down hill. Taxi took much faster about less than 10 minutes. For those who likes to explore, the Jagalchi seafood market and Gupyeong night markets are also within walking distance of the same vacinity as Gukje market. Songdo Beach is about 30 minutes by taxi. And 20 minutes walk from the beach upwards will bring you to the Songdo walking trail (or the Busan Geo park). A good coastal view from the top. We prefer Haeundae beach btter, but overall we really enjoyed out stay in Busan!
