Fine, no frills place to crash for the night

Good location near Central Station, Newtown and Sydney Uni; good value for money (if you're OK with a no frills experience).
This is a fine place to stay if you need a cheap place to crash for the night. I stayed in the single room, which has a private shower. Note that there is no toilet in the room, so you'll have to use the shared facilities to relieve yourself! Also note that the single room (at least the one I stayed in) is right next to the front door and reception, so it can be a little noisy. As other reviewers have noted, the shared facilities leave a bit to be desired. Unless you are a backpacker, I would probably only stay here if I could secure a private room.

Absolutely perfect location - but ............

Location, location, location
Seeing it advertised as a Lodge Hotel is totally misleading. I am not sure which part is the lodge and which part is the hotel. I would say it was a 'rooming' house. I think maybe eight rooms only. The majority of the rooms are used by long term students. First night until 3am the students ran riot with their loud talking, laughing, screaming as they had no consideration for anyone else. Using the shared bathrooms and showers first morning had water everywhere from the students. And I mean everywhere! And dirty toilet paper just put into the little bin in the toilet rather than into the toilet. I saw the woman on reception for the first time that morning and said I had concerns about the inconsiderate with their noise and was told she would be speaking to them. It is a non smoking facility but all the smokers sit on the "no smoking signs" just outside the doors on the steps and the smell permeates through the hallway, into the rooms. I had a TV in my private room but it was glued to the stand which sat on the window ledge - the TV fell off the stand onto my suitcase as soon as I closed the curtain. It was a shame that the were not at all friendly or considerate towards paying guests!

Try it only one

Location, Facilities, Prices
The accomodation was not bad but the room allocated was terrible. I didn't totally understand why someone was operating a washing machine and some was singing with instruments at MIDNIGHT. Although I stayed 5 nights at the hotel, I couldn't take a sleep comfortable all days. I don't really want to experience it again.
