Exceeded expectations
We were in the garden villa and almost everything about this place was excellent. The facilities and the staff were awesome. It was impecibly clean and was great value. It was just a tad far from the recommended restaurants and bars but there was still plenty around close by that were good. Snorkelling straight off the beach was good. Beautiful hotel accomodation.

Nice but....
Beautiful accomodation but traffic noise easily heard from room as well as the man snoring in the room next to us. No hot water either. Hot water I can do without, sleep I cannot. The extra bed was just a top mattress on the floor.

Not Quite What You Expect...
Facilities are nice for beachfront 2 bedroom not far from Amed central, 1 night US$150...nice views, yes there is coral, plenty of fish, even turtle sighting, waterfall pool, onsite dining, and hotel staff were accommodating, but the beach attendants kept it from being ideal. Beach chairs were extra and a couple of the attendants behavior made my girl friend on the beach feel very uncomfortable while I was snorkeling. Quite unusual and happened on more than one occasion. Another less than ideal situation was the location of massages...right on the front terrace. Several men, hotel attendants iincluded were standing right in front of our villa watching as we both took massages with only towels on. Needless to say they were not looking at me. Neither of us are modest or easily offended, but we both would never do that again. Overall it was a great get away from UBud with those exceptions.

Super bad AC
The location, the restaurant, the grounds
The hotel is not new but very nicely maintained except for the air conditioning was absolutely horrible. We were a family of my wife and myself and our pregnant daughter and her husband, plus our son and his wife and two infant children. So we had reserved three cottages. But when we arrived and turned on the A.C.s they just didn't do anything the AC units are old and very under capacity, bad no fan to help. All of us requested other rooms and with a lot of room dancing we all finally got rooms that were tolerable but just barley. The worst thing is with some producing the stall admitted to me that they suffer with this on a daily basis. I live in the Amazon in Brazil so know hot and how to maintain ACs. The guests and staff suffer because someone thinks they are saving money by putting in under capacity AC,s. "Not so". Staff was very nice, location good, grounds nice, and restaurant very good but I can not recommend staying in this hotel until they upgrade the AC.

Good service but bad air conditioning
Service is awesome, the view is good and peaceful place to stay
The staffs are very friendly and nice. This place is right beside the beach, so my friend and I can easily hop on to a rented kayak, or snorkel everyday. The sea view is amazing, clear water and full of corals. If that is the main point why you go Amed, I think this place offers reasonable pricing, good location, nice environment. However the trip from Denpasar airport to the hotel can be unbearable (I'm not used to long drive that is not on a smooth road). The airconditioning is pretty bad, I'm still sweating in the room even though I have switch the air con to full. If wifi is something essential, I think it's better to just buy a week's worth of Internet yourself; the hotel wifi is horrible. I can't login most of the time while I was there. There are some 3rd party vendors around this hotel, so, please expect to have pushy 'salesman'. Coming from Asia myself, I do expect better food around Amed but unfortunately - no.

Great beach location
Snorkelling Gardens Pool
One night/ 2 day stay at coral villas to snorkel. Separate villas for 3 couples, great location right on the beach. Dinner meals very good - Australian Chef. Breakfast just ok. This is a really good choice if looking in the region of Amed for family or friends to stay in a large garden setting near beach. Nice pool.

We love this place. This was our third visit.
Snorkeling off beach, grounds, pool
We stayed in rooms 33 and 34 our first visit 3 years ago. The rooms then had hand carved Balinese doors with chain and padlock closure and cinderblock walls. Room 33 now has updated doors (i do miss the charming ones) plastered walls and mosquito netting. The remodeled bathroom has a giant "stone" tub and double shower head. I love the bamboo ladder towel rack. There was a refrigerator in the room. One needs to ask to borrow a hair dryer. In the morning we could hear the family that lived over the back wall when we went out to the bathroom. My husband wears a brace on his ankle so being able to walk to the beach to snorkel is a great plus. Recommend this for a lovely Balinese experience - it is not a cookie cutter modern hotel, a plus in my book.
