Worse trip ever

Aircon was cold, the mini store carried drinks and snacks, and they had star laterns
The stay was not the best experience. The room they put us in was all the way in the back by noise generator. The tv had only two channels barely working because the cable wire was spliced and there was no antenna. None of the pictures were clear. The exercise room was a joke. It look like they bought stuff from a used garage sale and there was not enough weights to do even a proper exercise. The shower was like warm water and if you change the dial for more hear it didn't work at all. The breakfast in the morning only had one selection choice longanissa, egg, and rice. They didn't have napkins or condiments like ketchup available. We ordered massages on two of our nights at Costa Villa and they were terrible and more expensive than Manila. We ordered a deep tissue massage and the girl was only doing light pressure and didn't use her thumbs to get certain knots out of my wife's back. After an hour they rushed out of the room. The second massage we ordered from another location, but was told by the management that we had to pay an additional 100 pesos for service fee because Costa Villa has an agreement with a massage business. We informed them they were terrible and we didn't want to use them again. There was no place to hang our wet surf clothes to dry outside. The wifi zone was outside with no tables to put your laptop or work stuff. It was in a bad location. No wifi in the room. The location of the establishment was a it far from the main area to surf. The beach area were Costa Villa taught surf lessons was on the dirty side of the beach and had lots of rocks. Overall experience was terrible and we will not stay at this establishment ever again.

Near the beach, accessible, budget
one out of 4 towels was dirty. It had blood stains on it. Rooms need better lighting. Our tv wasnt working and our other room's tv signal was really bad.

My one night stay in Costa Villa.

Location, clean sheets, courteous staff.
It was ok except there's no food service early evening at 7:00 pm and the bathroom has broken showerhead.

Location, Views, 24 Reception
The hotel charges 4 star prices for a 2 star hotel. First of all...the location of Costa Villa is amazing: 2 min walk to the ocean, 5 min walk to a nearby hostel, and 10-15 walk to nearby bars and restaurants. I also liked the fact that Costa Villa's reception office is 24hours, and you can buy things like beer, water, snacks, etc (though the staff late at night/early morning do not speak English). But the place is over-rated. For the price I paid...yes, my room was clean, comfortable (AC worked), and I had a few channels on TV. But I wasn't given any toilet paper. I wasn't given any soap or shampoo. And there's no way to call the reception office because there's no phone in the room. Minor inconveniences, I know. What I didn't like was this: 1) I didn't like being charged for items I didn't purchased. When I checked out, my bill had items on it I never asked for at 2 in the morning. I may have been greatly inebriated then, but not stupid. And 2) I really don't like that this place would not let my friend reschedule his reservation because of typhoon Lando. Seriously? It was too dangerous to drive down! And you won't let him rebook?? No way. That's more than just bad customer service. Overall, would I stay here again? Most likely yes. But after I looked around to find a better deal for my money.

Costa Villa

Location,Value for the money,
Good enough.. location is great along the hi way no need to go to surf camp as they already offer surf board lessons, Beach along the villa is not safe for children waves are quite too strong for a swim just a minute walk to flotsam 10 min walk from surf camp food hmm.. don't expect too much.. room you get what you pay for..

close to Flotsam and Jetsam. Away from the surf camp there were too many people.
It was ok. They upgraded our room without extra cost which we appreciated but signal was bad in the room. Couldnt get globe signal

It's okay.

It's an okay place to stay at. Room's not so big, not so small. A bit far from the surf area but a few minutes' walk ain't so bad.

not good

the wifi is working in the room
We stayed in room 4, standard room. It's small, but the bathroom is so narrow, you have to be an acrobat to sit on the toilet. The bed was too soft. Aircon is positioned right above the head, but luckily we didn't catch a cold. The reception and kitchen staff (1st day)were pretty incompetent. When we arrived for breakfast at 8:35, they said breakfast is closed (supposed to be till 9). When we complained, the guy decided to cook after all. There were no vegetarian options in the menu, so my friend had rice with eggs while I had only rice (yuck). The front desk clerk seemed to be working 18h per day (worker abuse anyone?). When I wanted to buy water, she said she didn't know the price??

Convenient place to stay for overnight or weekend

Beach front, Surf and barbecue
Just passing by La Union. Fine for overnight stay. Too bad there was no waves for my children to enjoy. Anyway, they still tried to do surfing. simple dining area. room is big (two floors) living room below 1 bedroom upstairs. Mattress is too thin, bed covers not so clean. AC directional blades are broken and it was installed in the bed level, worst! But resort staff is very accommodating, I guess that's the best we had during our stay!
