Beautiful building, soulless interior
Exterior of the building (the old hall) was stunning
I was here for one night after a wedding. The old part of the hotel oozes history and charm, but my room and the breakfast restaurant was in a soulless modern wing. It felt like the hotel had been purpose-built for corporate 'away-days' and I could have been in any modern British hotel. The room was an ok size with a compact bathroom, and it felt dimly lit and dull. Breakfast offered a great choice of cooked food and the staff were very friendly.

Nice setting
The views are great
The views are fantastic, as are the gardens, good breakfast, but over all you don't get much value for money here

Beautiful setting
easy to navigate around
Stayed at hotel for a freinds wedding so unfortunately did not have chance to sample everything it had to offer, however as a wedding venue it was beautiful, the rooms really gave the occasion a sense of grandeur, also it was nice to retire at the end of the evening to a comfy bed! All staff were helpful, check in and out were quick, a satisfied customer.

Nice Hotel but starting to look a bit tired
Fantastic grounds, very picturesque,Very impressive period hall
rooms in the new section are looking a bit tired,no mini bar,no room safe, very expensive drinks
as you drive up the long straight tree lined drive you see the very impressive hall, the reception is very grand and looks amax=zing with the period fireplace, and foyer that is seeped in history, the rroms are either in the main building which are full of character in period style,or the modern west wing which has very modern rooms. the old style rooms in the main wing are better in my opinion.
