Nice 'lodge style' America B&B

Nice bed, welcome & garden

Overall I would recommend this hotel, the staff were nice and polite, it was well situated and the room was more than adequate. Unfortunately I can only call my stay in particular ok overall. Positives, the room was nice, clean, the bed was comfortable, the shower was good. Parking & location both great (its a half hour walk or 5 minute drive to the town centre, which was fine on a nice summers evening). There were a few things that bought it down. One of these on their own wouldn't have tinged my experience, but between them overall they did; Firstly the layout of the hotel. This place is set up like a motel, with two floors of rooms with all the windows facing onto the outdoor balcony/path (which all face a gorgeous garden overlooking the pitch, to be fair). This means that if you are on the ground floor and have your curtains open, you're on show to anyone walking past, so privacy if you want it, but only if you give up the light / view! Secondly check-in. I was informed by email on the day of my check-in that I was required to give an estimated checkin time, & check in by 7pm. This isn't a problem as its a small familyrun countryside motel/lodge/B&B and you can't expect them to sit around waiting for you all day, but it should really be asked for up front, I didn't see or notice this anywhere in the info prior to booking, and only got the email on the day, if I'd been traveling late or not seen the email this could have been a problem. Thirdly wifi, I was given the wifi code, great, but the signal wasn't strong enough in my room to use it. Not so great. And not something thats generally easy to fix so as I only had one night i just used 3G. Breakfast, well it was a buffet with a cooked breakfast to order, great, but they unfortunately forgot to make mine, and as I'm polite I didn't like to ask until it was quite clear they were serving people after me, which was half an hour. They were very apologetic, but the room wasn't full and I felt abit uncared for.
